Wrong Week?

When is Jersey Week? I know that the "soap" thing is the weekend of 11/10. We are going 11/10 - 11/18/06. Please warn me ahead of time if I have picked the wrong week.

I think Jersey week is the week before but I'm really not sure.

Just read in another post its the week of 11/5......the week we will be there...I hope it won't be crowded.

NJEA convention begins on Thursday November 9th. So, it's the week of Monday the 6th, that will have lots of Jersey people. Are you trying to be there for Jersey week, or avoid it?

Also remember that Friday, November 10 is Veteran's Day and it was CROWDED when we were there last year. Didn't realize it until about noon, but boy, we were jammed in that day. We really didn't have any problems earlier in the week so we were fine with it.

If you're coming in the next week, you will miss all of us Jersey folks. Sorry we won't see you!

I'm just wondering what all the hoopla was about Jersey Week. We were very worried about one vacation that coincided with the (sorry, don't know what it's called) football players and cheerleaders. After reading the boards about all of the overcrowded conditions, we were sure it was going to be unbearable. It wasn't. We hardly knew they were there. Like everyone else, we're just hoping for a slow week. A girl can dream!!

i guess that depends on what you were hoping to accomplish - if you were hoping to meet a lot of wonderful nj folks who took their kids to wdw, then you picked the wrong week; if you were hoping to avoid a bunch of nj tourists, then you picked the right week!

Correct, the weekend of 11/10 is part of jersey week, Veteran's day weekend, super soap weekend and festival of the masters. Though the weekend should be busy and the parks packed, the week days should be calmer.

You forgot one, n2mm. It's also the last weekend of F&W Fest. As if the place wasn't going to be busy enough!

What exactly is Jersey week?

I had been a teacher in NJ's public schools, and always looked forward to the week in November that included a Tuesday holiday for Election Day and then the Thursday and Friday most/many public schools had off so the teachers could attend the New Jersey Education Association's convention in Atlantic City. It seems that many New Jerseyans head for WDW that week.

Happy planning ! We've been the last two years and are booked again this year. It is significantly busier than the weeks before and after, but can't just blame Jersey...last w/e F&W, Super Soap, Festival of Masters, Veterans Day....

We avoided the parks on the Friday and Saturday, just doing what had shorter lines. I think the one day the Soarin' fastpasses for the day were gone by 10 am in the morning!

Lor2816 - you will notice a definite decrease in crowds late on the Sunday and the rest of your week.
