Wrong Luggage Tags

Our luggage tags are for OKW, but we changed to BWV so now our luggage tags are wrong. I've heard it's OK to write the correct information on the tag, but I'm wondering about the barcode the luggage handlers will scan. Should I put a line through it so it won't scan and will have to be entered manually or leave it alone? (the reservation # changed so that's what has me concerned - that if they scan the barcode, the luggage will go to OKW!) TIA!

I suggest you call ME and see how they want you to proceed. They may have you leave them off altogether and just give your baggage claim checks to the ME desk at MCO. They're the people who can give you the best info.

Leave the barcode alone. The barcode doesn't say the equivalent of "OKW." The barcode says the equivalent of your reservation number. If you changed resorts but your RESERVATION NUMBER REMAINED THE SAME, then you're fine ... your reservation in the Disney database has your new reservation info, and that is how the bags will be routed.

You'll want to cross out the old resort name just in case someone thinks they're doing the right thing by "correcting" an apparent mistake (putting your bags in the OKW cage when they notice them in the BWV cage).

Thanks for the replies! I'm leaving the barcode alone! Worst case: if they don't show up at BWV, I can suggest they call OKW! (as long as the bags make it to WDW, I'm sure they will show up eventually!)

Mine arent right either. I changed dates & resort just a few wks ago (extended trip). Called Magical Express and they said they updated the barcode. I changed the date and resort on the tags.

Did this once before too. No problem.

The only problem I have had w/luggage though was during a transfer. My bags from Pop never arrived at BCV until after 7pm! They were sitting in a back room at Pop

I've had the 'luggage transfer woes' too!

OK, the bags are packed and tagged! I'll post here again on 10/31 IF I had any problems!
