Our transaction closed today.

I looked up our Warranty Deed on the OCC site and realized that First American did not correctly enter our address on the form. It is not a simple misspelling. The street name is flat out wrong. All other forms leading up to closing had the correct address.

Is this a big deal? I am going to email FA and let them know.

Idk if this is a big deal or not, but I hope they responded quickly and will resolve the issue!

Not too a big deal at all. Just file a change of address form with the OC comptroller/tax assessor so that if you're charged for property taxes (no idea, do you get charged those for timeshares?), they can send it to the correct address.

BUT, you won't get a copy of your recorded deed back though.

It really shouldn't be a big deal but it would bother me and I'd want it correct. It'll cost around $20 to fix in in recording fees, hopefully they will cover that in this situation. Was it correct on the other paperwork and they just messed it up on their template or was it evident on the info they sent you and you missed it? IMO this is critical as to who should pay for it.

I've seen them use the title company's address as your address of record. I'm pretty sure DVC does that, too.

I emailed FA yesterday.

They apologized and said they would contact DVC with correct address. They did not offer to correct the Warranty Deed.
