You need to find out. Can your union rep do that for you? Will the adminstration or teacher do that for you? It's impossible for you to Do The Right Thing when you don't know what that is! It's like they have stealth requirements that they won't share with you so you will trip up on them.

Can you talk to the teacher and try to get her to work *with* you on doing you job for her in the classroom instead of *against* you? It seems that she is sympathetic. My guess is she doesn't want to lose an Aide any more than you want to lose your job!

They're targeting you for "bad attitude." But you can't document "bad attitude," you have to document behaviors and that's where the eye rolling comes in. It's a symptom of a bad attitude. Once you are labeled as someone with a bad attitude, it's hard to pull out of it and only you can change their perception. My suggestion would be to be compliant, cooperative, pleasant, even go out of your way to be cheerful if you have to.

They are preparing to let you go. Prior evals will not help you with this. Best of luck. But I've got to be honest with you, I have low tolerence for bad attitude and have said many times to people, "We hire for skill, we fire for attitude." It's true.

For the life of me I can not figure how I could be considered as someone with a bad attitude. I'm always cooperative, pleasant, and I am cheerful to were I say hello to everyone in the hall ways. I smile and jump in to help people without being asked. I am a people person. They keep bringing up body language. I never had a problem with that in the past. All of a sudden I do? I will be 50 in a couple years and never had a complaint about that until now. Not doing anything else different. I think and so does many other co workers that is is plain nick picking.

When into work this morning to find a letter stateing there will be a special meeting Monday at 1 to discuss discinplinary actions. Second highest up from our administration is suppose to be at the meeting.

Axe time! I still felt sick but went in today but left right after. No way could I handle thinking about the meeting feeling as poorly as I do. 7 years down the drain. Guess I better hit the papers and see what is available. I'll check the local schools on the internet also.

If you go to the doctor and have a note they can't accuse you of faking it. I would watch my P's and Q's and try to do everything with a smile on my face (even though I know you are hurt)...you might still be able to pull this around.

This is what I was thinking...especially since you have your vesting on the line. It may be they want you out of there before you're fully vested. I've known lots of companies to do this just as someone is about to reach that point. Get you a doctors note, play nice (even if it kills you) and don't let them take away what you've worked so far for. Good luck.

I thought of that they don't have an opening until next Thursday. I am sure by then I will be better. I do watch my P's and Q's. As a matter of fact many aides are telling me how sorry they are cause as many have said I am one of the nicest ones around.
word travels fast around that school. all the aides are on pins and needles wondering if they are the next one. This one paticular teacher appears to have a lot of pull there.

Go to an urgent center if you can not get into your family Dr., at least you can get documentation there.

Good luck with everything. I know how you're feeling. I was laid off last year after almost 20 years with a company. I had a feeling it was going to happen for a couple of days and it was the worst couple of days in my life.
