writing our own wedding vows

Can anyone help. My fiance and I are very keen to write our own wedding vows, does anyone know if this is possible and how we go about this?

Yes it is possible as I did it. I used Rev Jack Day, I would however speak with your officiant and see what their policy is. Good luck!

If you're getting married in Florida (or any other state that allows this sort of thing), you could also get a notary public to marry you. That's what we're doing, so I wrote our vows from scratch. First I took notes on all the traditional bits I wanted to include, then I looked up Web sites for help on the flow of the vows (looked up examples, basically), then I decided what kind of vows I wanted (from what I can tell, there are sort of 3 ways: (a) "do you, bride, take groom, to..." "I do" (b) "repeat after me", and c) the bride/groom saying the vows directly to each other. I used a combination of the first two (I was really nervous about us forgetting our lines, so to speak!).

This wasn't the "vow" part of the ceremony, but it was a major part of the ceremony that most people gave us compliments on...
Our officiant asked us to write a "story" that shared a "funny" or sweet moment that happened while we met, or while we were dating. I wrote a short little story about waiting at the airport for my fiance after not being able to see him for a month, and he wrote about a comment I made in an email that I had written.
Our officiant simply said, "I'd like to share something that Tanya and John wrote about each other..." Then HE read them...which I was so thankful for! Our family enjoyed hearing the short stories, and even laughed a bit when in my husband's story he snuck in "...and for the record, Tanya would like you all to know that she CAN cook!"
