I like this idea about comments. Helps us become better and takes away some of the competition.

I took a yearlong Creative Writing class freshman year and that's what we did a lot I learned a lot.

Ok - perfect! I really want to do the challenge right now but I have AP Global to do. Maybe if I finish a little more of that I'll try and start on this.

I reminded myself to breathe. It was just a test. You took millions of tests in school.

But, this test is different, I can't help but think. This was the final test. If I passed, I would be given a character to be and I would start training on Monday. This was the last hurdle to accomplishing my dream of being a character at Walt Disney World.

Okay, first question.
Maggie: Hi!!!!!!!!
Bridget: Sorry to interrupt, but hey there!
Jack: Meh. People.

Guys! Not now!
Please forgive them. I have these voices in my head. They're mostly around at school, but they can be anywhere there's a problem. It's how my mind works through stuff. I must seem so weird now......

Maggie: Hi!!!!!!! I'm Maggie!

Yep, that's Maggie. She's hyper, bubbly, and happy go lucky.

Bridget: May I please introduce myself?

Why not?

Bridget: Cool! Anyhow, I'm Bridget. I could be described as smart, polite, and caring.

Thanks Bridget. Jack....well, I don't usually listen to Jack's ideas.....

Jack: What did ya say? Anyway I'm Jack. End of story. Go away now.

Yeah.... Jack's not the most polite or talkative person. In fact, he can be stubborn, rude, and argumentative. But he's useful sometimes.

Jack: Yeah! I'm useful! Wait, what?

Can we please get to the test?

Bridget: All right.
Maggie: What's the question???

#1. When at work, you should always _______________________.

Maggie: Have fun?
Jack: No.
Bridget: Possibly, but I think it's stay in character.

I think that's it. What do you think? Stay in character?
Bridget: Yep.
Maggie: Uh-huh
Jack: No.

All right, that's down.
#2. A child walkss up to you and talks to you rudely. How should you react?
A. Ignore the child
B. Reply angrily.
C. Treat him/her like the other children
D. Try to make a reply in character. If you are a villain, challenge him/her to a duel or try to recruit him to villainy. Or if you are doing someone like Mary Poppins, make a reply like them.

Bridget: Hm. This one's harder.
Jack: No. Clearly it's A. Or B.
Bridget: It's clearly neither, Jack.
Maggie: I think it's C!!!!!
Bridget: Possibly, but D is the most creative and I think Disney is looking for creativitiy.

Perhaps. Everyone good with D?
Maggie: Sure!!!!
Bridget: It's the best choice.
Jack: Whatever.

Okay, that's done.
#3. What beverage should you drink lots of, especially in summer? ________

Jack: Water. Duh.
Bridget: It doesn't get simpler than that.

Okay, so there's three.
#4. A child with a disability meets you. You should-
A. Be gentle
B. Treat them like normal.
C. Be mean
D. Interact like the character likely would, but remember to be a little soft.

Bridget: I take back what I said earlier. This is the hard one.
Jack: Finally, Bridget was wrong!

Be nice Jack.

Maggie: I don't think it's B or C!
Bridget: A and D do seem like better choices.
Maggie: I think D!!!!!
Bridget: I bet it's D.

D? All right.
#5. You're going home at the end of the day. What should you do with your costume?
A. Take it off as quickly as you can and leave it on the floor.
B. Take it off slowly so you don't tear it and put it back safely where it belongs.
C. Take off your costume right but ask someone to put it away for you.
D. Take it off and decide to take it home for some reason.

Jack: A or C.
Bridget: Clearly those are irresponsible choices. I say B.
Maggie: Ooh! Ooh! Pick B!

B, alright....I'm finished......

Jack: That was it! All the hard work for five questions?
Maggie: That was easy!!!!!!
Bridget: It might have been five questions, but it was important!

I walk up, ignoring my voices as they argued. I turned in my paper. The disney lady read over my answers and smiled. "Come on back." I followed her to the back.

I closed the door and she smiled. "How would you like to be "friends" with Winnie the Pooh?"

I knew what that meant. "I passed? You're going to hire me?!"

The lady grinned. "Yep, Susan. You passed with flying colors, and we'd love for you to be Pooh.

I smiled. "I'd love to. I'd love to more than the whole world!"

Maggie: You'd never have done it without us!

Jack: Preach!

Alright, here's my story
So there I was, sitting at the base of a huge metal mountain, dangling my tail into the water when someone spoke behind me.

"Danielle!" The voice hissed. I turned to see a girl dressed all in black with a black hat covering her shocking blonde hair, tapping her pen on her clipboard impatiently. "Come on Danielle! Guests are starting to arrive!"

"Excuse me?" I asked. Who was this 'Danielle' she was talking about.
The girl rudely grabbed my arm and started pulling me behind the metal mountain.

"Where are we going?" I winced as my tail scraped pianfully on the concrete.

"Backstage. Where you're supposed to be!" The girl replied irritably. "Thank goodness you're already in costume. Is your makeup done too?"
I leaned away from her as the girl scrutinized my face. "What is makeup?" I asked. "Eric never told me what it was."

"Oh haha Danielle. But you don't have to be in character tonight. Just sit on your rock, smile, wave and look pretty." The girl replied, still tugging at my arm.

"You think I look pretty? Thank you! I combed my hair through with jellyfish jelly this morning." I strained to lift my tail of the ground but the girl was stealing my breath with all her pulling.

She lead me into a large area behind the metal mountain, with a framework of beams and levels. There were others like her, scurrying around, clad in black and barking into...what were they called?.. oh yes, headsets. I wondered where we could be. The human world never ceased to amaze me but I could really use some water right now. I turned my head to tell the girl but she had dropped me and was already hurring off.

"Excuse me!" I called. "I need some water! Could you help me please?"

"Yeah yeah Danielle. Some will be in your dressing room. Now hurry up because that's where you should be too!" She said waving a dissmissive hand.

"Where might this 'dressing room' be? And could you assist me in getting there?" I flapped my tail as the girl turned, to indicate my inability to walk right now.

"Danielle! You've already put the tail on? Ugh, I suppose I have to carry you now." She sprinted over and scooped me up.

"Thank you." I said politely. "Now I realize I have yet to learn your name. What is it?"


"Claire, remember? Danielle, you're starting to scare me!" Claire shot me a pointed glance as we approached a door which she kicked open. "There you go. Someone will collect you in about an hour."

I watched Claire exit from my perch on the chair then immediately looked around for some water. My tail had begun to itch as it dried out and I knew that scales would start falling out next. I glanced around rather frantically until I spotted a large....what's the word?....oh right, plastic jug of water. I flopped off the chair and wormed my way across the floor to the jug. I then poured half of it right onto my tail and breathed a sigh of relief. The floor beneath me was a wet also so I rolled around (rather foolishly) so I could use up all of the precious liquid.

"Pardon, but what are you doing Miss?" A masculine voice asked from he doorway.
I turned and saw him. Black hair, chiseled featrues, casual sailing clothes, even the beaten up boots he knows that I love so much. "Eric!" I cried attempting to throw myself at him.

"Hi....ummm....Danielle, right? Or should I say Ariel?" He winked then picked me up off of the floor and carried me out to a boat covered in twinkling lights. Settling me on a fake rock he said, "Buckle up. We don't want anyone to fall in the water."
I did as he instructed and the two of us were off, gliding swiftly over the water I had swam in earlier. Slow music played as Eric and I waved to the huge crowd of humans. When we reached the other end of the lagoon, we were loaded onto a large boat with a bunch off other humans an...for some reason, mice. Soon, the large boat took off too. Again I waved, though I wasn't sure why.


"Eric? Who are all these people?" I asked glancing around.

"Shhh! No talking onstage!" He whispered back and I stayed quiet. I didn't make a peep all through the flurry of activity that followed. I was silent until, back in the 'dressing room' Claire tried to take my tail off.

"AHHHH! What are you doing?!" I shrieked, trying to bat her hands away.


"Danielle? Why is your costume stuck?" Claire asked, ignoring my outburst.
That did it. "What costume?! And who is Danielle?! Please put me back where you found me, next to the lagoon. Thank you." I huffed and crossed my arms as Claire stared.

"I need water! My scales are going to fall off!" That startled Claire into action. She picked me up and hurried back to the lagoon. Before she had even
reached the water's edge, I wriggled out of her arms and dove. I let the murky water's silky smothness envelope me. As I swam away I heard a little girl's voice call out, "Look Mama! It's Ariel!
'Finally.' I thought. ' Someone knows my name!' And then I swam into the darkness.

Okay. Thanks, Erin. So, here;s the deal. After a few discussions between me, Erin, and a few others, I have come to an executive decision. This thread will no longer be a competition thread, but a free- writing thread. You can post whatever you want on here. Whether it's a short story, or just an excerpt from a novelyou're wring, or what. Then...we will all send that person feedback in the form of either post OR PM. Please keep it nice, though!!

This is just something thet I'm trying to see if it works out. I f it doesn;t...then we will come up with something else. But for now...the Writerz Thread lives ON!!

Okay I need everyone's ideas for something. I just thought of an idea for a story and I am in desperate need of some names! Maybe y'all can help me? I'll put their personalities and such, cause sometimes that helps on deciding a name.

#1 (MAIN)-Female, dramatic, artsy, blonde, loves comic books and other geeky stuff like #6, outgoing.
#2-Female, skater type,tomboyish, funny
#3-Female, awkward, new girl, quiet, loves to write, secretly has crush on #5
#4-Female, ex popular girl, asked to be part of popular clique daily, but always rejects
#5-male, secretly wants to join drama club, but is embarrassed by it, so he plays football to cover it up
#6-male, geeky, loves comic books, pokemon, etc.
#7- male, the schools heart throb, 'nuff said.

Any help would be appreciated!

Naming characters is one of my favorite parts when writing a new story xD
Here's what I would do:
#1 Camryn or Scarlett
#2 Jordyn
#3 Samantha or Molly
#4 Paige or Reagan
#5 Cole or Hunter
#6 Miles or Brandon
#7 Justin (; or Adam or Zach
