Can you use a Disney gift card to buy/put money on one of the wristbands for Food and Wine?

I believe so. It isn't like room charging where you have to connect it to a credit card. You choose an amount to preload. If you run out, you can add more money to the gift card at one of the stores.

If you mean can you load money onto Magic Bands using gift cards and not charge things to a room, no that's not possible at this time. We were just there a few weeks ago and staying off site, so we didn't have a hotel room on property to link to the MBs. I looked into loading money onto MBs we already had as an option, but it's not something that you can do.

That said, you can get gift cards at F&W that are attached to wristbands, and load money on those. Use the Disney Gift Card website to transfer balances from other GC's you have onto the wristband one.

I guess I mean when you get the wristband do you buy it? If so can you use a disney gift card? Or if the band is free, can you put a gift card on it (I'm thinking no, by your ecojenation). And NOT disney rewards, but a regular gift card. I was going to use a gift card I bought for my food and wine purchases but thought the wristband was a cute idea.

The friends we traveled with got the wristlet gift cards, and there was no charge other than loading some $$ on it - paying for a gift card with a gift card....not sure if that would work but I imagine they could. Worst case you could do what I mentioned (Get them and put a small amount on them - I don't think there was a minimum - and then log into the Disney Gift Card website, add the new GC and transfer your balances). I use the Disney GC website whenever we have a trip coming, because I buy my GC here and there over time whenever we have extra money. Then before the trip I consolidate them onto one or two cards so I'm not carrying around a huge stack of cards during the trip.

PS - GO PATS! (Former Foxboro resident here!)

You have to pay cash or credit card. I tried to charge it back to my room on my magic band and wasn’t allowed.

Disney will not allow you to use one gift card to buy another gift card. So to get the food and wine wristband you will have to put $15 on that gift card and then you could transfer any money from your existing gift card to the food and wine gift card. I have no idea why they won’t allow you to use a gift card to buy a gift card. I’ve even had to argue with them when I’ve been using a visa gift card. I always just tell them to try and it works. But the staff is always convinced it won’t

This may be a silly question but you can use the Disney gift cards from Target to purchase at the food booths during food and wine correct?

I like the idea of saving 5% with my Target card and bringing down that gift card rather than purchasing a mini card.

You can use any Disney gift card at the food booths. You can also reload any Disney gift card at many of the booths. The booths also accept VISA/MC gift cards.

Thanks !! Can't wait to attend my first Epcot Food and Wine !!!
