A thread popped up on FB saying that they are giving daily wristbands (just like SAB) for people staying at CB. From what I gather pool hopping is being noticed and it seems like this may roll out to all resorts. Very interesting. Personally, I’m glad

I'm surprised Poly doesn't have this yet. I know both pools require a Magicband/room key to enter, but often times there is a conga line of people entering/exiting, so it makes it super easy for non guests to sneak in. The Lava pool is already people soup but now imagine that some of the people in that soup are non guests.

Why were there people using the CB pool that weren't supposed to?
The semi official answer that they are testing this at the Fuentes del Morro Pool (Main Pool).

They closed the multiple gate entrances and funnel everyone through 1 gate by the Old Port Royale lobby and they have a Lifeguard table setup verifying guests are CB guests and then issuing wristbands.

I saw this at CB on July 4th. I thought it might have been just because the holiday, but perhaps its being more widely used.

Yes it has been becoming a thing for the Skyliner resorts just like it was for the Monorail resorts years ago. Disney is forced to crack down and the honest resorts guests are the ones inconvenienced by the few overly entitled people.

I didn’t find it too inconvenient when I stayed at beach club. Was pretty fast to scan our band and get a wrist band. I think they should be doing this for all the resorts with popular pools

Sure it works if you pay for a MB these days. It was no issue when MBs were included in your resort day. Now you need to carry ID even to use the resort pool. Next they will need retinal or iris scanners to keep pools reserved for resort guests.

A RF room key, Smartphone or some flavor of MB is required to be with you is not how I want to spend my vacation. At SAB they recently have tried a newer wrist band that was environmentally friendly (material vs plastic) and required sharp scissors to get off. The TSA confiscates sharp scissors. It caused quite a stir with my granddaughter wanting it off.

How would you get back into your room if you didn’t have a room key of some sort on you?

Agreed. I remember when I was staying at AKL and using the Kidani pool, a group of guys near me were bragging about being Universal employees and they drove over to AKL to use the pool. That shouldn't be allowed at any pool IMO.
Call me what you want, I would have discreetly turned them in... How do they get past the gate? We have to let them scan our MB and show ID.

Considering the fact that we get woken up just about every afternoon with a door knock during our "break" why is this security hole not plugged?

Edited: "gate" meaning the guard shack at entrance to resort

I could see a guard letting them through as AKL isn't connected to a park but I don't know. Kidani's pool also does not require a Magicband/room key to open (or at least it didn't during my trip)
