Wrinkled Linens? Link to table linens through disney?

our linens weren't wrinkled, we did have upgraded linens for the reception, they were the eyelash pintuck, but we had standard for the pre-reception and they were not wrinkled either. I don't know if maybe we were just lucky, I forgot to even ask about having them ironed. I have noticed in pics, that the chair covers tend to look wrinkled.

Even some of the nicest and most expensive weddings have creases and wrinkles....

I LOVE the chair seats and sashes that Cassie chose, but how hard was it for them to do a quick press or steam to get the wrinkles out??? (Actually, I don't know for a fact that the chairs were by Disney; I'm just assuming.)

That is just pathetic! Come on, for the AMOUNT of MONEY we are all paying, whether it's couture, wishes, or escape, it's a LOT of money!!! And they can't get the wrinkles out? It makes it look so cheap, and this irks me sooo much!!!!!!

That wedding was an outdoor event, so she would've had to have used Disney. It's a shame about the creases in the sashes. :sad2:

I don't believe those creases look as bad on Cassie's chairs because the creases are kind of hidden, in a way, with the folding and tying of the fabric on the chairs. Those folding creases really stand out and look 10x's worse when it's spread out over a table don't you think?

I think the point of this whole thread is that a "neat" presentation should be Disney standard. Why else would they care about you using outside vendors for events visible to park guests? Wouldn't you agree then, that it's kind of silly that they are okay with putting out wrinkled/creased table linens? Aren't they kind of embarrassed? And why are they charging an arm and two legs to have them steamed? This isn't right.

Is it a deal breaker for me? No, I love Disney otherwise and I've dreamt of having my wedding with them. But, I do have to say, I'm very disappointed in some of the ways they choose to do things.

Just my own opinion.

Also, do they not iron the linen for the David Tutera couture collection weddings? Should you have to spend 65,000 in order to get a neat appearance?

I'm in agreement about the whole wrinkly linen issue but I will say that mine look way more wrinkly in my pictures then I percieved them on the day of. Still, it's really dumb to have to ask for that! it feeds an unfortunate cycle of feeling overly cautious about simple things and then WE seem weird and paranoid to all those around us!

lol! true! :goodvibes

I wonder how they would feel if their staff turned up in a wrinkled un-ironed uniform...

See, that's what I'm talking about!

When I used to work for Disney back in 96'-99' they had a very strict appearance policy for cast members. No facial hair for guys. Only natural hair colors for guys and girls. no chunky highlights, no purples, pinks, etc. Only 1 pair of earrings no longer than a quarter's length. Natural appearing make-up. No heavy-eyeliner..etc....

I realize it isn't that strict anymore but my point being if they care so much about appearance then what's with their lackadaisical attitude about the creased linens?

ITA with both of you! I hate the idea of paying to have our linens ironed, but I hat the idea of wrinkly linens more, LOL!

I agree, the creased sashes don't look that bad because it's not a lot of fabric. It looks a lot worse on full chair covers and tablecloths. Still, a little bit of fabric or a lot - they should steam. And you're so right, it is quite hypocritical for them to forbid outside vendors at outdoor weddings and then set up chairs with wrinkled covers or table cloths that aren't even all the way around the table.

I personally wouldn't call it a dealbreaker, either, but wrinkles are a big pet peeve of mine and it's annoying that they charge extra for steaming.

I agree with everyone, this should definitely be a standard practice...especially for a company such as Disney. According to my planner the "free" linens from hotels restaurants and convention centers are all handled from one place...they are laundered, pressed and folded by a machine then stored for use...she stressed the weren't wrinkled but they had creases or lines from the fold...lol...to me it's all the same difference...it's out of place at a wedding. It's not a deal breaker but has definitely taken some of the magic out all of this...I'm super detail oriented and I personally notice that kind of stuff. Maybe if more DISBrides voice their concern to their planner the planets will align and maybe a solution will come for future DISBrides....eh....what can we do?:sad2:
