We've been in NC for two years and just finished building our house over the winter so this summer we will be able to explore NC.

Which beach (wrightsville, carolina, kure) is best for a day visit. Which is best for a weekend or longer stay?

Pros and cons of each beach would be greatly appreciated.

thanx

I have always prefered Wrightsville Beach for staying (but not at the Blockade Runner--too expensive for what you get); Carolina Beach seems to have the older motels, or homes for rent. I don't know if Kure has any hotels.

I enjoy Fort Fisher and the aquarium at Wrightsville.

Parking is REALLY bad at Wrightsville. So I wouldnt go there for a day visit - unless you got there very very early.

Kure Beach is a nice beach. Not alot to do we kind of chill at the beach and pool in the day, and got to the peir. It is perfect for families that don't like the busy type beach.

Carolina Beach is not as quiet as Kure it has a few more people. My kids loved riding the party boat in Carolina Beach.

Kure and Carolina are so close you can ride back and forth between the 2.

Hope this helps you alittle :)

We just got home from Carolina Beach (literally a couple of hours ago), it is very mellow not much to do other than the beach and the pool. (although both were too cold this weekend.) The Aquarium and Fort Fisher are great and the Battleship in Wilmington is close enough for something fun to do. Big Daddy's had great seafood if you need a restaurant idea!
