Hi everyone

I've just received an e-mail from Discovery Cove and it bought tears to my eyes (I'm a bit soppy!) and wanted to share with you all.

I'm a single parent of a 6 year old DS and will be going to Disney next in Dec 05/Jan 06 for 3 weeks. DS's 8th birthday will be 15th Jan and I had planned to take him to fulfill his life long ambition of swimming with dolphins - he was devastated last year to learn he was too young.

Anyway, I will have a 6 month infant with me at that time and had panicked that DS wouldn't be allowed into the Dolphin interaction alone. So I e-mailed Discovery Cove.

The customer services guy had spoken to a trainer and she had said to let a trainer know on arrival and they will allocate a trainer to accompany him in the water, stay with him and assist in any way they can whilst I watch from the shore.

I am sooo pleased and so touched - you would never get that level of service in this country. I am going to keep the whole thing a surprise from DS until the day we go to DC - he is going to be gob smacked!

Thanks for listening to my ramble- just wanted to share a bit of magic!

That is really awesome. That goes to show you that asking never hurt anybody. They can either say yes or no! Good going! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

gob smacked?

I hope that doesn't hurt! ahhahahahhahaha

I'm so thrilled for you!!!

I have to disagree with your comment on the level of service in your country....I had never been treated so kindly and politely as I was as a tourist in your country!!!

In fact, I cringe when I see rude Americans steeling a saved parade spot, using bad language, etc. in the presense of British visitors at Disney. I always want to apoligize and explain that we're not all like that, LOL!

I hope you enjoy your stay!

Just curious...

As a single parent of 2 kids, one of them very small, how do you afford to go to WDW for 3 weeks (through New Year's), with part of the stay at Moderate and Deluxe resorts?

Didn't notice you were from UK until you said gob smacked! My cousin says that all the time - made me smile. I have heard absoloutely wonderful things about Discovery Cove – have a wonderful time and I can't wait to hear your trip report. I would love to take DD one day when she is old enough, she is a true water baby and DH (molecular biologist) says the only science field he wouldn't mind seeing her persue is marine biologist at Vero.

It's nice to meet a fellow obsesive complusive planner. Our trip will be a couple of weeks before you, I already have the full itenerary created. Planning out the small perfect details has been the only thing that has keep me same the last few (very stressful) weeks. I am also planning a two week trip to London and the countryside to visit a dear friend in the fall of 2006. There are so many wonderful places to go that I have always dreamed of seeing – the problem is how to choose and fit it all in. I keep trying to convince DH to get a post there. I might be able to fit everything in in a year or two...

I am so happy for you! It makes me so happy to hear when people help each other out.

Kelly
