Wow! we could've used that...

I'm now unsubscribing because the diva cup took over this thread. And maybe the moderators should enforce the off topic rule thanks for nothing

This thread began by asking everyone what they had wished they'd brought along on their last trip. The Diva cup was just one of many things people mentioned and since sooo many people had never heard of anything like it before, it sparked a lot of interest. Last I heard this is still a free country! :furious:
Do you they should create a rule about not asking an open-ended question?

I am enjoying this thread. Even talk of the womens hygenic items!!

Relax......... I see you are fairly new here, but you will see this happens all the time.
What are women if we are not ones to go off topic??! ;)

:confused3 there's an off topic rule? i thought these threads were all about what the people joining them wanted to discuss... :confused3

Yes...wicked common even up a little north of boston here in NH, where we are wicked excited about our upcoming trip :rotfl:

I wasn't sure what I was going to read when I got my e-mail notification for this thread....first post I saw was the unsubscribing one.

Chances are that if she unsubscribed to this thread, she never saw your responses, and that's too bad. You all have ONE thing right--the OP asked what we couldn't do without, and yes--feminine hygiene products came up and apparently most of us had never heard of these "cups" before.

...and, yes, it did spark a lot of controversary, but my gosh--isn't this what these boards are all about?

I've seen people post about meds, accessories, etc. on here and then little subthreads take off, so what is different about this? (I'm assuming it's the acutal subject matter at hand.)

I was going to go back and count the ACTUAL number of posts about the "cups," and then compare them to the actual number of TOTAL posts in this thread, but then I saw the posts supporting the cup posts.

I guess that's what the unsubscribing option is for....if you're not interested in reading a thread anymore then you can unsubscribe....great feature of these boards.

Sorry (again) if we offended anyone....

Whenever we travel I make sure to bring a big, sturdy plastic cup for rinsing my little one's hair in the bathtub. A new bath toy would be nice, too. :fish:

I need a cup for hair rinsing also - and the ones in the room are inevitably either glass (too dangerous) or so small! Also, the dollar store usually has little squirty fish toys or something - new and cheap!

I did the research for you, Chanda7 started the discussion and then there were 25 additional posts 6 by dcanoli along with 15 more posts supporting this topic. so that leaves just 4 posts that are neither supporting or not supporting. So what that means is that I should just keep my mouth shut. Also 25 posts is not alot of posts compared to the number of total posts in this thread. Sorry, I must have been having a bad day.

I love the idea of bringing a plastic cup. I always have that problem too. Of course, this year, my kids will probably be taking SHOWERS instead of baths since they are older, but wow--DUH--what a great idea about the cup.

Those little glass ones they give you in the Value Resorts aren't very good for rinsing soapy hair, are they?

Thanks for a new idea!

Not really something to BRING as much as something to DO.

When leaving our stroller out we always (or for the most part). We us the clothes pins we brought and an extra poncho and cover (and pin) our poncho to our stroller. One it's easier to spot. And two it'll keep it somewhat DRY if it rains while you're on a ride or eating or whatever while you are away from your stroller. It'll save the seat from getting wet so you can put your little on right back in there.

I just got back yesterday. Thanks to everyone who posted before I left, I pretty much had everything I needed. However, I wish I had taken my flip flops with me on the water rides. I hate soggy socks and flip flops would have been nice on the Kali River Rapids.

The spray sunscreen is the best. We were out during the heat of the day and didn't get burned.

Ziplock bags were also good for staying organized. I had one bag filled with a bottle of advil, bandaid blister strips, and hand sanitizer. I had another bag so my camera wouldn't get wet on the water rides. I also had a bag with cottonelle wet wipes.

I took the brita filter with me, but ended up leaving it at the hotel because I got cups of water from the counter service stands. However, there were some places the water tasted better than other places even at the same park.

I took bug spray because I always get bitten, but I did not have to use it.

I rented a towel from Typhoon Lagoon, but someone stole it. They were kind enough to leave my hat and sunscreen. I took my receipt back to the cashier and told her what happened. She gave me another towel. So, it worked out. But, I left the towel in my locker the second time. Oh, I think the water at TL might be salt water because my skin started to get irritated. I went back to the locker and put body glide over the irritation and that helped.

Oh, as for the the leftover food, if you ask for a box, they will give you one.

If I think of anything else, I will post it later.

How much to rent towels?
You can't take one from your resort?

What is Body Glide and where could I buy it? I never heard of it before. Is it waterproof? My ds9 get very chaffed from walking around in a wet swimsuit whether it's at Typhoon Lagoon or the beach near home. A friend said to cut the mesh out of his suit and wear regular "tighty-whities" but that still doesn't help. Always within a few hours, he's walking with knees out wide. We've tried baby powder but that's only good once you're dry/getting dressed. Would Body Glide help? :confused3 Thanks! :goodvibes

What's everyone's favorite brand of spray on sunscreen? I tried some in the stores, but it just seemed to come out in a big glob, just like the squeeze kind so I didn't see the benefit.

I like the AVON Sport Spray. It comes out just like a non-aerosol hairspray does. I love that. It takes 30 seconds to spray your whole body. Then you don't get greasy sticky hands either.

I use the SPF 30 on myself and my kids, and we have never burned. :)
There is also SPF 45 Kids one. They are also waterproof.
