While on board the Wonder, we booked our five cruises for 2005 (actually there will be six, but one will be 4th of July week on the Magic's magical mystery itinerary, so we couldn't book it yet...I sure wish they had a pre-opening wait list!). Even a year out, the non-adjoining SPRs for Easter weekend of 2005 were booked already! That's a year in advance! They were open on the other dates we wanted them, but we are wait listed for Easter. The moral of the story is, if you want one, book it as early as possible. I usually book all our cruises in Jan. for the following year, but I waited later than usual this year hoping that the Magic dates will open. Next year I'll be back to my due diligence!

Thanks to you and others on this board we got a SPR for our cruise. I knew they went fast and booked our cruise last Oct 1 when these dates were first opened. Thanks to your great site and these boards it made things easier when it came to booking. I knew exactly what to ask for.:sunny:

Personally, I think since the "secret is out" and the more everyone on these boards talk and tell everyone to get those rooms, that they will get harder and harder to book. We lucked out and somehow got them our first cruise 18 months ago. We booked thru DVC and didn't ask for any specific rooms. They told us that these were the rooms we would have. I didn't know any different. Wow! We were really lucky. Our next cruise we also purchased a Cat 10 and really missed having the view and the sun in the morning. So this cruise we are booked at a Cat 9. As more and more people read these boards it is not such a special secret that we share as DISers. :(

I too learned about them from this board. We have a SPR for Upcoming May cruise that we booked in November 2002! 18 months in advance! When we booked it, there was only 1 SPR left! I'm lucky we were able to snag it!!:hyper:

Gunr, the big attraction is that you get a Category 10 room (inside) that actually has a porthole. It has an obstructed view, which is why you can get it at an inside price. They are a great bargain and are also in a good location (deck 5). There are also a few "secret verandah rooms" (sold as navigators verandahs but they have regular verandahs with a slightly obstructed view). I have photos of those, too.

Best of luck in one becoming available and once again many thanks to you for your help

I have them too - thanks to Barb and Tony's site for our 1/2005 cruise. I also had a navigator's verandah in May 2003 thanks to Barb and Tony.

Chucklechops, don't feel guilty! I would be happy to be in a Cat. 12, just so I am on the ship. I count myself lucky to be able to sail so frequently, so I'm probably greedy to book the SPRs in the first place! Hopefully the person who got it is a first timer who is really excited about the cruise and who will love their bonus view.

In June 2003 we tried for a SPR for the Oct 2 Magic to Antigua. All ready booked so we're going in a 9

:p I managed to get one for October 15th 2005!!! The Western the next week they were all gone!!! I think the secret is out!

We were in 5020 our last cruise and loved it!!

Best deal if you ask me...Close to kids clubs ect.... I like to book early anyway. Gives me something to look forward too and plenty of time to pay....:sunny:

We are booked in 5020 for our 7/31 Western thank to Barb and Tony and my urge for booking early.

Can't wait. Had cat. 11 last time and enjoyed it so can imagine how nice it will be to have light in the cabin.
