So for those who haven't seen my other posts, my dad is dying of cancer
When we found out treatment wasn't working, mom and I scrambled to book a last minute trip. Everything came together- all the ADRs I wanted, the handicapped room at the resort we wanted, inexpensive flights, etc. We didn't tell dad because we didn't want him worrying about "feeling good enough"
So the last few weeks have been rough. Dad's spent 18-22 hours a day sleeping, and the rest of the waking hours puking
He's had extreme fatigue, no appetite, and nausea like crazy. Poor guy can't keep anything down, and it's an ugly vicious cycle. We thought the trip was going to be canceled for sure.
So he was up with his oncologist yesterday, and they've put him back on steroids, since they can't find an underlying cause of the nausea. He woke up this morning, ate TWO breakfasts, and is puttering around the house like his usual self, albeit a bit slower than normal.
I'll be holding my breath for the next two weeks, but by golly, I think I'll be spending my birthday with my DH and my parents in Disney
