Wow! This board has become really active

I can't help be amazed at how busy this Disneyland board has gotten over the last year (or 2?). Am I right mods, or am I imagining it?

In past years I used to go and lurk on other forums when planning a Disneyland trip as it seemed there was not a lot going on here. I only came to the Dis when first planning a WDW vacation, checked out the DLand board and didn't see all that much action.

Now, however, there are often 2 pages of same day posts and I notice so many WDW vets and east coasters planning 1st visits to Disneyland. Its really great to see and makes this a much more fun board to read. I guess WOC and the rebuilding of California Adventure has attracted a lot of new people.

Looks like Disneyland is THE place to be these days

You are correct.

The board has been much more active lately. It's only very recently due to World of Color (at last count, I saw 27 World of Color-related threads on the first 2 pages of the forum, and I wasn't even done counting yet!), but prior to that we have had many WDW vets inquiring about planning DLR trips (as you mentioned), we have 2 very active holiday planning/info/photo super threads - one for Halloween and one for Christmas - and those have been extremely popular as information begins to trickle out for HalloweenTime, there have been various threads regarding who is going in which months (to meet up), etc. There are always lots of people asking about character meals too. Yep - the board has been hoppin' (and this Disneyland forum, in particular, has seen a surge in activity, I think)!!

I think that many Disneyland fans, especially those who must travel to the park, are switching/finding this board because it has activity and is friendly/helpful. I frequent other boards, but for a couple I feel like I post at my own peril. These boards are a wonderful source of information, but tend to cater to locals/passholders. On a couple of other boards, there is just not enough activity on the Disneyland threads to keep it interesting.

I've been hanging around more due to WOC. My son and I saw it already but my other two sons didn't so I need to formulate a plan to see the show now that it officially opened. I'm thinking we'll probably end up getting the dining package. I also want to keep up the upcoming changes at DCA!

Good question, Trey. I have never thought to ask any of the webmasters about that so I'm not sure if it is easily accessible or not, but I agree - it would be really interesting to find out! You can always tell when this forum is particularly active if the threads keep moving down the first page at warp speed! Much more of that has been happening recently, but it would be cool to see what the patterns or average posts were over the last few years. I'm sure someone has access to that info around here!
