My mom and I were supposed to have gone for a mother daughter trip in September, but we had to reschedule because A) hurricane Harvey hit us and B) it was during hurricane Irma. I was just so happy that I was able to reschedule everything without losing money and so busy trying to redo fast passes and dining reservations that I didn't even mind losing our free dining plan.

Apparently my mom wrote a letter to Disney about it (because an email wouldn't even cross her mind...) and they called her back today and gave us back our dining plan on our new reservation! I guess it really never hurts to ask.

Disney often has a way of getting it right. This is a perfect example! I'm so glad this worked out for you.
 
We were supposed to do a Halloween trip, but ended up changing it from November 29 - December 3 to do the Christmas things instead.
We've just been for Halloween - decoration comes down today and Christmas decorations tomorrow - I really hope to see them one year!
 
So awesome to hear!! It is one thing that Disney excels at -- customer service and making sure the customer is always happy. They know that if anyone leaves unhappy they will likely not return, but if they make some gesture to right a wrong (even if it costs them some money) they almost guarantee that customer will come back again or at least will talk to others about their positive experience. Now if every business could operate like Disney -- we would all be living in the happiest place on earth. Hope you have a wonderful time!!
 
I don't see it as pixie dust, but more just good business. Any event, it's one less thing to worry about. Have a good trip!

Do amazing and you're right...it never hurts to ask. They were probably REALLY impressed with that hand written letter.
