I am staying at BCV for a Disboard meet with Gamers in October. That was a 4 night stay. I recently found out my school has reading days for students, no classes, so I asked DH if he would consider joining me for 3 nights, since I have the days off, and he agreed!:goodvibes

October 6-9.... No studios anywhere for all 3 nights, even SSR! Was lucky to get a 1 bedroom there. I am so happy we can borrow points! The PAPs we have haven't had much use in the water parks, so we are looking forward to BB's Lazy River!!

I guess F&W does draw ppl in!

Years ago, it was August, and I remember thinking about going to WDW for a weekend in October. I was able to get a studio at OKW for the weekend. Now, it's July and not a studio was to be had in OKW or anywhere for the 3 nights I was looking for.

That's why we bought at Boardwalk, specifically for Food & Wine. F & W brings a HUGE draw. Unless you own at the BCV or BWV, getting reservations there at 7 months almost guarantees a wait list.

We had the same experience last year so we booked into the Dolphin. This year we're out of pts anyway so it was the perfect reason to re-book Dolphin. Hopefully by next year .... :goodvibes

Also its Gartner IT expo which is a huge IT conference and brings lots of folks who add on their families.

As I mentioned, I am going to a Disboard Gamers meet and have had those BCV reservations since about 10 months out. I booked those even before I knew what my school schedule would be, and I booked because already the Sunday night studio was gone at BCV at 10 months out! So, I booked Wednesday to Sunday.

This new scenario, that has me with days off from school just happened, and I honestly am thrilled that I could get the SSR reservation. A 1 bedroom is something we don't usually get, but as I am getting less steady on my legs, a shower stall rather than taking a shower in a tub is becoming something of a necessity. So, I really am thrilled to have DH with me for those 3 nights.

PS. I didn't know about the IT conference...there are so many reasons now to have early booked reservations for October!!!!

Not only October. October, November & December are pretty full. I tried for a studio for 5 nights, any week from late October to mid December, all I could find was SSR.

I was able to get 7 nights in a BCV studio for early October at the 7 month mark. I guess I was lucky and caught it as a BCV owner was switching their reservation.

Granted, it was a more popular week due to October Break but we looked at the 5 month mark for a studio from Oct 16-21 and couldn't find a single night anywhere. Ended up booking a cash room but now I'm waiting for the Fall discounts.

Wait listed BWV at 7 months... Still no luck. Excited to try SSR though - would be very surprised to see this wait list come through! We always run out of time before getting to DTD so SSR will work out great. :)

Am also waitlisted at BWV and BCV for late October. My fiance has never been during F&W so we thought it would be a great way to celebrate him passing his comps this summer

We're booked into a 1-BR at SSR, but really only need a studio. Hoping for the waitlist to come through-send pixie dust!!!!

We booked our Oct (2 week stay) at BWV at 8:00AM at the 11 month window (standard view) and within 15 minutes the first day was gone. We recently tried to add on a couple of days for any resort to arrive early (for a better flight price) and have since given up and booked a few days at Vero before arriving at WDW. As mentioned this is why BWV is one of our homes.

BTW: The Gartner Symposium this year is October 6-10. Usually we get caught up in it during our BWV stays, so am happy it will be over by the time we arrive on the 19th. We have found in the past that during our stays at BWV, they will shut down the main parking lot and restrict it's guest to the other one (to the left of the guard shack). The attendees will be staying at a wide variety of places, but I guess they use the convention center for some events...not sure

lovely, guess we'll be rubbing elbows with them and using the valet.

The last two years I was shut out of booking a res @ BWV a month or so into the 11 month window for the week before Columbus Day weekend. This year instead of waiting for DH to receive vacation approval, I booked it and hoped for the best.:)

It's been a few years since I tried to book the first full week in December (usually Pop Werner week)but always managed to book one of our home resorts at nine or ten months out. Wondering if it's becoming as difficult to book as October?

now to google Gartner Symposium;)

October is always busy for F&W. We booked our 2 bedroom BWV at 11 months out. However, flight prices for our dates are ridiculous and if we were to go one day earlier they would be slightly better. So I tried to look for just one extra night and no 2 bedrooms are available for that one night, not even SSR. I've been looking for over a month.

We've been waitlisted 1 night at BCV in a 2br lockoff since the 7 month window opened. Ironically a 2br dedicated with 2 queens was available so I have that booked, but we want to switch to a lockoff. No big deal if it doesn't come through, but I'm sort of shocked it hasn't since it's only 1 night and it's been several months!

Maybe you have people who, instead of canceling, are keeping only part of it.. This is why, IMO, that splitting a 2 bedroom shouldn't be allowed as it will make it harder for those waiting for those 2 bedrooms.

I thought only OKW had the second room with two double beds! I'll have to check into that!
