WOW! Nothing at all Oct 8th!

I called MS just now after reading that it "might" help with my waitlist...
WELL...not only is BCV not available for that night, nothing at all in any of the resorts - not even Saratoga - is available!
Guess I'm lucky I have Kidani that night and BCV the rest of the trip!

Yep that is a very busy week - I think some southern schools have a break then and it is also Columbus Day holiday for some northern ones. It is also MNSSHP and Food and Wine time. Be very glad you have that room already.

October 10th is also Canadian Thanksgiving, so many Canadians could be heading to WDW for some extra days around the long weekend.

Yes, we found the same thing. We have take an annual family reunion trip on Columbus Day weekend and had to change DVC rooms three times to accomodate our 10 day trip. On top of being WDW's 40th anniversary we are attending the Carolwood Society's annual un-meeting at WDW, which is also going on that week.

We finally bought heavy into BCV and BWV so that we can access the 11 month reservation window. Takes a lot of stress out of teh reservation process.

It is great that you have Kidani! I would keep calling just to check and see if anything opens up at BCV if you really want to be there. Since it is just one night, you just might get lucky with one of those phone calls. Our plans changed and we needed a DVC room for Thanksgiving, a 2 bedroom and there was nothing at all available anywhere. So we made a cash reservation. I called several times a week to check and see if anything opened up. Each time there was nothing at all. One day last week I called and a THV opened up. Not where we are staying the rest of the trip, but I was thrilled to get that since we have really wanted to try those out. Sometimes the phone call does the trick, it really is just luck of the draw, but it can't hurt if you have the time to do it.

I'm not surprised at all. I had been trying to get a studio or a 1 bedroom for the nights of Oct 19th and 20th for the last several weeks. Everytime I called, there was nothing. I did finally put in a waitlist for an OKW studio for those nights, and it just came thru last week. There is still hope for waitlists! We have the nights of the Oct 14th - 19th at BCV, but I had no hope that a waitlist would ever come thru at that resort for the 19th and 20th.
