...and I really want to stay there again! Wow, I forgot how awesome that place looks, and it's been over 6 years since I've last stayed there!

So, those of you who watched it, what did you think of it?

I just watched WL on the Travel Channel too and find the resort just breathtaking!! My DH and I visited the WL on our trip a couple of weeks ago, we always take a trip over there and roam around and take in all the beauty there. I just cannot seem to break away from staying at the Boardwalk though. There is just sooo much available right there and I love the rooms at the Inn. Although on my next "extended" WDW trip in 2004 I am planning on starting off at the Grand Floridian thanks to all the great info you (CaliD) have shared with all of us. I did some exploring at the GF with my DH and he really loved the GF and said he would love to stay there. Anyone else watching.....??

Yep, I watched it and I loved it! It made me homesick for the lodge. If we didn't have another visit coming up soon, it would have made me so sad! What an amazing place!

Yep, watched it!! I am so excited!! I can't wait to get there now... I wish my VCR was working :( ... It will play tapes, but won't record...

I'm so glad my GF information helped you out! Enjoy your trip to the Boardwalk - I've never stayed at an Epcot Resort (will be staying at the Beach Club on my next trip, though).

:)

If only we got the Travel Channel!!!:(

We loved the WL when we stayed there 7 years ago too! Friends of ours just came back from a vacation at the WL, and are raving about the resort. It is a very magestic place to stay! We visit it every trip to soak up the atmosphere in the lobby and common areas. :):D:)

I watched it too -- I can't wait to see it in person!! These "Great Hotels" shows on Disney have been fabulous. (Renee, I taped it for you). I was only a little disappointed that they didn't include Artist Point.

Funny that you say that, there was only a "slight" mention of AP...I remember because she said "for adults only" and they showed a quick clip of people eating there and there were children at the tables with their parents.

Yes, it is more of an adult oriented restaurant (and if I can get dh to come with us next WDW trip I'd like to do dinner there with just him and I), but we did go there for dinner back in May with our dd (she was 3 1/2 then) and it was a nice meal especially the dessert they offer for the kids that keeps them busy for quite some time.

But, "Samantha" is it? probably didn't eat there, otherwise I think she would have included more coverage on it:)

I do very much enjoy the WDW resort specials on TTC but the only thing that bothers me a bit is that most of the rooms they show you are suites (although the BC one was a regular room).

I think they can include more about the "activities" the resorts offer. Like the WL has a lot of activities for the kids (that I didn't know about til our last visit) and even mention the "kids clubs"...since they are WDW resorts a lot of the viewers are looking at family vacations and it would be nice to know that these optional things do exist.

All in all I think they are great shows that really give you a nice glimpse of the resort and what it offers.

I taped it and just watched it!! :D Timely too, we are headed there this Friday...gives me something to look forward to! One thing they didn't show which I will be looking forward to is the Electrical Water Pageant.

I've only been back 10 days but when I saw the show I realized I didn't go to Toon Town or Tomorrowland on this trip:eek: Time for a new countdown:D

Fox&Hound - Thanks so much!!!! I can't wait to see it. I am asking everyone in my area to call our cable company to complain that they took off the TC!

Thanks again!!!!

I watched it with my almost 9 y/o dd. Was hoping she would really want to stay there. But, it's still CBR or Polynesian for her. I know, I know.....she shouldn't be deciding where we stay. This is her last trip as a 'little kid' so we want to stay where she likes. But....we will be traveling over to WL to eat and check it out!! And, we will be making the trip to FW for the fun over there. I just love WL. It is truly breathtaking. I also wish they would show more normal rooms. But I guess that since the show is "Greatest Hotels" they figure that the regular rooms are not up to that title, hence the 'suites'. Oh well.

Great show, made me homesick. I will definitely have to tape it Sunday when it comes back on.

Next airing: Sunday Oct 13 @ 11:30am EST

Does anyone know when it's coming on again?? I still haven't seen the AKL or WL episodes.

I watched it too. The resort is so beautiful! We are talking about staying there for our next trip. It seems that I am always planning the "next 3 trips". LOL

I watched it too. We are going for our first trip there next week.
Can't wait to see it. I have visited the lodge and ate lunch there once at WC, but I have never stayed there.

I also wish she had spent more time on the resort and less time showing me Adventure Land.

I am so glad I have Dish Network, else I wouldn't have the Travel Channel. Local Cable company doesn't carry it around here.

Anyone notice that the WL-MK boat Sam took was the little one? I've never seen them use anything but the large ones in going to the park. Those small ones are used for the WL-FW-CR loop.

(And boy, is she cute. Dingy, but cute nonetheless.)

When we were there in July we took the small ones a couple of times to the MK. I think it just depends on who is going where and the boats can change their destinations.

we were at VWL in July and I stopped at contemp. after MK to pin shop, and hopped on one of those little boats to get back--they are pretty cool.
The show made us miss VWL too. We are going in Dec. for a weekend but could only get the Swan. We'll be back at VWL on July 3.
