WOW, just signed up for the YES program!

Can someone please clarify the ticket purchasing for adults for me? We'll have a 5 year old and a 2 year old. The 2 year isn't eligible for the program and also does not require a ticket for park admission. The ticket purchasing rules state that you cannot purchase more adult tickets than child tickets unless you have an only child.

So is DS5 considered an "only child" in terms of program participation and I can purchase 2 tickets for me and DH? Or can I only purchase 1 for one of us and 1 for DS5? The system will allow me to purchase up to 10 tickets but I think the enforcement will come when I go to pick them up.

Am I making this way more complicated than it is??? I tend to do that...:rolleyes1

As torinsmom said. I think it says to first enter names of all those that you will be needing park tickets for, then on the next page it has all of those names, and you "check" the child that will be doing the class and the adult, then you go on to pick the tickets that you want.

I just got ours for October. Grandson (11) is doing Production arts and Science but there wereno classes for my granddaughter (5) during the week we are going.

It was no problem getting all 4 tickets. You do pay the same for adults and children weather or not they are attending the class.

It's a great program and I'm glad to be able to take part. Thanks Dis -I never would have known.:thumbsup2

Question for anyone who has recently purchased the tickets. Is there an option to use gift cards to pay for them? I have been adding a $25 GC onto to my grocery bill every couple of weeks to pay for our park tickets. Other expenses are already covered. Hoping I can use the gift cards for this...
Also, this trip will just be Grandma, DS and me. Will we be able to all get park tickets through this program? Thanks in advance.

No, the registration is not directly through Disney, so you cannot use Disney gift cards.

Thanks for the help with this! I hope it works out that we're able to participate!

The catch is that the tickets must be used with in 7 days of the class and (I think) they are non-refundable.

yes, they are non-refundable (and not upgradeable). But you input your arrival date and departure date when you sign up for the class. Tickets are good for 7 days prior to arrival date and 7 days after departure date. Not the date of the class. Our last trip with kids was June 5-14. We did the class on the 14th (our departure date). Our tickets were good from May 30-June 21. our kids have done the classes twice now and will probably be doing a class again this summer. they LOVE them! and the super cheap tickets are a bonus! We have 7 people so the savings REALLY add up!!

I just signed up my son and I for the Disney's Wild by Nature Program. It looks really interesting and I'm just as excited as my son! We don't usually spend a lot of time in AK so this looks great for us to see behind the scenes and learn more about the wildlife! Also the ticket discount is a huge plus!

we did this class last June. We have been to WDW quite a few times but with this class we saw parts of AK that we have never ventured to on our own. It was great! The class ended at Bug's Life. The rule of thumb apparently is that if the regular line is 15 minutes or less, the class has to wait in the regular line. If it's more, then you go through the FP line. We also did the safari ride earlier during the class and went through the FP line. By the time we got to Bug's Life, it was right at 15 minutes, so we would have to wait in the regular line. Our kids have done this a few times and it was the end of our trip (we were there for 10 days and the class was our last day). So we opted to skip Bug's Life. enjoy your trip and your class! we are looking at going in June again and will do another class too!

do you have to buy tickets to do the class? can we still do the class if my kids have tickets with our package? i know there is a fee for the class, which is fine, just wasnt sure if you had to buy a ticket package.

Does anyone know if the YES program is offered in other months besides June, July and August? I am going to WDW in May but there doesn't seem to be a class available for the last week in May. We may also think about coming back later in the year, probably October or November but not sure if the YES program is offered then either.

In 2012, Jan-Feb, then June-October.

Yes, you have to buy a ticket package to register for a class.

In the past you could just pay a fee if you didn't need tickets (like if you had an AP), but they no longer offer that.

So excited. We are hoping to go in September. I called this morning and they confirmed that all of the classes my kids are interested in are still available! YAY! And they will leave the registration open for those classes until they fill up. I can't wait to talk to my husband about it tonight! We still won't have the money for the tickets for a few weeks yet. Hopefully the classes won't fill up before then. Shhh! There are no chep tickets to see here! Lol! Keep walking...nothing to see...nothing at all!
