Daughter is doing Radio City xmas show in AZ. I want to take her to Disneyland for a few days during the run or after the show is finished. I know NOTHING about Disneyland. Can I do the park in a day or two? What restaurants are must-dos for an 11 year old? Is Universal a good place to go also? How far is Sea World from Disneyland? Is that too many questions?:p

I assume the park will be really busy when we are there - right around xmastime. Will it be miserable for first-timers?

Thanks for all of your help!!

Laura

Yes it will be busy around Christmas though if you go before Christmas day it will be a little better. The parks are wonderful at Christmas. They are nicely decorated and a couple of the attractions get make overs that are real fun and in the case of it's a small world, very pretty.
If you want to do both Disneyland and DCA you will need 3 full days there. If you just want to concentrate on Disneyland you should be able to do it in 2 days.
If you have been to WDW and the Magic Kingdom you will find that Disneyland doesn't have all the full service restaurants. There is only one and a half.
The Blue Bayou is set on the edge of the bayou where the Pirates of the Carribean Boats float by and it is alway night time.
There are no characters but it is pretty. Might not hold the interest of and 11 year old. The other full service place is the Carnation Cafe, a sidewalk patio with not alot of tables and a small menu.
The Plaza Inn serves a character breakfast that is a cross between counter service and buffet.
Universal Studios is an hour drive if there is no traffic d is fun because they have been making movies there for so long and you get to see old sets ( though as time goes by the historical sets are disappearing).
Sea Wolrd is about and Hour and a half drive.

Your info is very helpful. I hope that we can get to the parks before xmas but that all depends on her schedule. Thanks again!
