Wow I received a package today from DVC!

I have requested some info on DVC and today I recd a large FEDEX pouch. I opened it and inside was the beautiful hard cover book with the word Dream embossed on the cover. It is 9x11". Inside were full color pages of all sorts of info and in the back was a DVD and other loose papers. There was also a large color brochure of AKV. This must cost Disney a bundle to produce! Is this what they always send when you request info??

Yep, we got the same thing shortly after we put our deposit down in April. It is very impressive stuff, but I guess they can afford it since we are spending $20K on them

We got the same pack a couple of weeks ago. I feel like using it as a coffee table book it's so nice.

I got last year's book - without AKV in it. I requested the info, and got a phone call from Judy (she's great!!). She said they just like to make sure there is serious interest in actually buying before they send it all out. After I got the book, I understood why they wanted to check how serious I was. Hey - I had to buy in . . . it's the next step in WDW addiction.

Well we had one of those and I threw it out! DD is very unhappy about this so its good to know you can still get them, I`ll see if I can sweet talk one from our rep when we next visit.

That book is to blame for us buying in!! I had never seriously considered DVC until we got that book and I started digging in to points and costs and obsessing over long term savings charts (we were once-a-year Disney trip people, always at the Deluxes)....Got my husband involved, and we talked each other into it! I learned so much on these boards that it made our guide's life very easy---basically a call to say, "Yep, we want to buy!" My brothers are glad we did...We are treating them and their families to their own BWV studios at Easter next year! (There go the savings-- ) Have fun perusing the book!

Weird. We were sent it when I simply requested the DVD. They called us and did a hard-sell (talking up the international properties), and sent out that package.

I personally think that in this age of "mypublisher" and mac publisher stuff, that probably wasn't THAT expensive to print, but it sure is pretty!!!

And, of course, when we actually looked at how expensive it is in points to stay international, or even at Disneyland, we wonder why they hard-sell all the non-WDW-area properties....

We received one of those hardbound books as well. Really nice, complete with the little built-in bookmark!

The funny thing is, when we were looking at houses, the sales literature was way, way cheaper than that. At best, it was a color printed folder with color printed inserts. Never a hardback or even a paperback book.

Makes you wonder what the profit margin on DVC must be, don't it?

I've said it before and I'll say it now. The Disney Companies are marketing evil geniuses! Your chances of NOT buying DVC just went down dramatically.

I got the darned book too,on Monday..Looks like I'll be signing the dotted line this summer
