WOW!!! I just got 5 nights in Oct

Our resale closed on Monday of last week, so I have been checking since Friday of last week to see if we made it into the system yet.

I called yesterday and was told no. I was going to wait until Wednesday or Thursday to call again but a co-worker asked me today what the status of my vacation was. I decided to call right then and what do you know, we were in the system!

I was able to reserve 5 nights starting on Oct 10th for a 2 bedroom vila split between OKW and SSR. I am wait listed for all 5 nights at OKW and the last 2 nights at BLT.

After reading about the lack of availability for Oct I was worried that our chances of getting anything was about zero. Now we are excited about our first DVC stay!

When I was making my reservations they asked me about my preferences for neighborhoods at the two resorts. I had no idea what to ask for. Any suggestions?

Also, any suggestions about changing my wait list?

I know that it is unlikely that there will be any availability, but is it possible to completely change resorts just prior to your arrival?

Congratulations on getting into the system and welcome home!

As long as your two WL's cover the days missing for your two resorts, I think you have it covered. The chances of getting all of five days at a third resort would be slim.

The WL's usually expire 30 days before the reservation, if you make a special request they will extend the WL to 7 days prior to the reservation. And then some members still call each day during that week before check in to see if any rooms have come available.
