Wow! I can't believe the price increases.

I just got a quote for 4 days at the DL hotel with 4 day park hopper passes for two. $1612.00!!! This was with the Disney Club Card! My wife and I did something similar to this in September of 1998. The room (4 nights at DL Hotel) and passes cost $896.00. This was without any discount. Am I crazy or is an 80% increase way out of line. I E-mailed the CM "Thanks but no thanks" (and asked them to tell the Marketing genius who came up with this to "kiss my ***". I guess it will be a long time before I go to DL (at least as a DL resort guest).

A couple of thoughts:

1) Park Hopper Passes now include TWO parks, so that accounts for some of the increase.

2) If you booked the hotel through the hotel line directly, not through the Travel Company, then the hotel rate is subject to change based on the hotel occupancy. Meaning the more booked they are, the higher your room cost will be within the room-type category. You might try changing your dates and see if that helps with your pricing.

Good luck! :)

Isn't it unbelieveable?!? We have been going every year in May for the last 5 years. The flexpasses are up 50% (we usually paid 76.00 for 3 days, now they're 111.00). I know we can use them at the new Park, DCA, as well, but we only plan on using it at Disneyland. But don't think that the DL Hotel is the only one that has raised their prices. The offsite hotels on Harbor have been quoting me rates 30.00 more a night than we paid just a year ago. I'm almost ready to cry!

I checked on-site room/pass rates also (May '01, two and three night). It was ridiculous, IMHO. For two adults, three nights @DLH, three day passes -- $1002 -- WITH the DC Discount.
That's why we opted to stay across the street. $54 a night. And if DL is anything like WDW, we will be in our room very little anyway.

AK : Lions, Tiggers & Bears! Oh My!
CSR: 01/01
DL- off site: 05/01
WDW - on site: 01/02

It does look like offsite is becoming a much better value. I sure hope WDW doesn't follow suite! I might have to start traveling to Paris or Tokyo just to enjoy the "Magic". Maybe when Disney Hong Kong comes on line that will be a better value. Sigh.

My guess is that Disney knows the new park is so poor that people will pay the extra to stay on site just so they can get hoppers. If it was $100-150 a night, I would. But at the $200-250+ I was quoted, I can almost buy separate passes to each park for the day I plan to attend DCA.

It is simply not worth the extra $$$ to get hopper passes. They seem to have been offering DC specials frequently this winter. I wonder if they will continue.⁄

We stayed on property at WDW last month and felt that although the prices were high - it was worth it for us. At Disneyland it's totally different. We stayed at Paradise Pier last weekend just to get the hopper passes. We will not do it again. There are still some good deals on non-Disney hotels and the benefits in CA. are just not worth it IMO.

Does DL still have the Disneyland Pacific Hotel? I can't seem to find mention of it anymore?
