Hi,

I know a guy named Harry Potter, he's about 45 years old, so he was named a very long time before the books and movies came out, but every time a new one is released he gets a lot of crank calls from so called "Christians" telling him (or his wife or his kids, who ever answers the phone) that they are going to hell for being witches. It doesn't matter to them that he is an 18-year US Navy man, that he is a father of 3 children, and is very active in his CHRISTIAN church.

It takes all kinds I guess: the stupid and the ones that have no life at all that they have to search phone books for the phone numbers of fictional characters.

I'm neither a Pagan nor a Christian, although I have friends in both faiths; and I also know some people in both faiths that are just as stupid as the one that emailed you.

Actually with me it is reverse (swearing at our office is fined a dollar, money goes into the party pot!) Whenever I am called a witch, I inform them that they have spelled it wrong, it starts with a B.

Sometimes it irks me that these people can hide their ignorance in anonymity and continue to stew in these ridiculous opinions. Wouldn't it be great if outing them actually showed them how ridiculous they are? Then again... if this person is stalking the OP... perhaps he/she has seen this thread and seen what normal, open-minded, community-oriented people think. The OP definitely took the high road. Makes you wonder whose love of Disney is really surprising... not the OPs, I think.

Sigh. I don't even tell people anymore. I am 41 now and sick and tired of defending it. I just am what I am and if someone figures it out then they figure it out. I used to be all out of the broom closet and defending the rights of pagans everywhere but now I just quietly practice my faith and let the world go on as it will. I am leaving it to you youngins to do it for me Don't get me wrong I will defend to the death our right to practice as we believe I am just doing that defending quietly by supporting causes etc.
