ROFR Discussion Thread

I wasnt trying to either saying at least there are some consequences ugh sorry sorry sorry people go thru things and ofc would never want to intentionally cancel 😞

Wasn’t trying to be negative on sellers mentioning things that likely will not happen @Girlstar30 has gotten into predicaments with bookings so I really think it’s best for her to wait until all is said and done.
Yes and there have been reports of contracts being loaded... without the advertised points! Sure most companies have a clause that you get X per point (unless you change title companies with the board sponsor), but money does not equal points you need for a reservation.

And that's a bummer, but still probably not the end of the world. I am not buying points for a single trip. I am buying points because I want to regularly visit WDW more often, for longer trips, and/or in nicer/larger/better located accommodations.
That’s why we bought but could see wanting to get a loaded contract for an upcoming trip if I’m buying anyway. But to your point, not the end of the world. Bigger things to worry about.

Not entirely sure you'd be told to get lost. It seems that plenty of people who aren't staying at any of the resorts are able to spend the day at some of the pools. They just wait for someone to enter/exit the gate and go on through.

Wouldn’t that impact the value proposition? If I’m offering on a loaded BLT and find out half the points of next UY are missing, I am no longer willing to spend the same $pp. If it was a fairy tale deal to begin with, then maybe I’d reconsider.

Same with a 2042 resort... if your contract ends up being stripped you lose three UYs when only 15/16 total remaining exist!

If only I could be so lucky 🤣🤣

I totally read this wrong just kidding lol!

HAHA I was going to ask then I saw the second post! It's definitely happened not that long ago with someone here and BCV. He did get ultimately get the money, but wanted those BCV points since they're so valuable.
I thought you said someone got a loaded contract without expecting it 🤣🤣. Yes I would be upset for this one I def want the points. And im glad I brought this up because I was seriously considering doing something stupid lolll

I did post in the regular ROFR thread, but wanted to post in here as well to get some opinions. We just passed ROFR on our AKV contract that we paid $90 per point for and we are paying closing and dues for 2026 due to the October use year. This is our first resale contract as previously we just had direct points at BWV, so just trying to see people's opinion if we got a good deal or not? This will probably not be our last resale contract, so trying to learn from this first purchase before we dive into another one. Thanks!

I’d be perfectly happy with $90pp and full 2026 points.

TBF, I don’t think many people will question a deal once it’s past the 10 day (depending on your state) cancellation period. Its really within that period when the buyer can actually do something about it that people will raise concerns.

I love that you are interested in feedback. There are a few things.

Did you buy AKV because you wanted to own there or because you wanted to use them primarily as SAP (sleep around points)?

Did you pay asking or offer lower?

I would say you got good deal if you are happy with your purchase and you will get good use out of it. It's a vacation home. There will always be more expensive and less expensive ones.
