WoW! How does happen? (Booking BWV Standards at 11 mos)

It depends on how many Members are using their points for internal "exchanges"---ABD, DCL, and the Disney Collection. Inventory backing all of those is turned over to CRO to monetize and pay for the trip, cruise, or hotel stay. Does DVC ever publish the rates of those uses? I think Dean used to publish the worldwide exchange traffic (to II or maybe even RCI), but can't remember.
Add to that unsold points, points controlled by DVC from non performing contracts, and points controlled under ROFR & Bankruptcy. I haven't update the RCI exchange info since they started using the RCI points program audit, it's really pretty irrelevant, I do need to update the BVTC info for the last 2 years. RCI and BVTC wouldn't be cash but would be non DVC stays in a sense.

Again, let's remember that this is only an issue for standard view & Boardwalk view studio & 2 bedroom villas. All nights in October & November (so far) are still available for those booking Pool/Garden view villas (studio, 1 bedroom & 2 bedroom).

It's very probable that there will be at least some G/P villas available when the 7 month windows open.

As I did in the post just above I'd place that very probability much lower. If the pool/garden view are open for all of October today that's new. During the past few days the studios have been gone for several of the days on and surrounding the 3rd weekend so inventory is limited even for those. That would be the type of gap that will stop a 7 month walk. And it's not new this year. Last year I was trying to do some switching and even the pool/garden view studios were limited or gone in early November and though I don't formally track I do recall also being shocked last year when the pool/garden view category was gone close to 11 months in early November last year too so this is not brand new. I wasn't watching October as closely to recall what was going on there.

I think people are recognizing that if they don't secure a room they may not be going so they are booking and deciding later. Waitlists work and it's possible to pick up the rooms but I don't think there's any guarantee for the Oct/early November time frame. If I do recall correctly even SSR studios were gone before 7 months for a day or two in October or early November last year.

Then you basically call member services every four or five days and just have them move the reservation forward four or five days and obviously taking out The previous four or five days.

2 days into my first walk so I figured I'd pose a question about this here since I saw this. Am I wrong to think that only calling every 6 days is enough? Should I call every 4 or 5?

You are likely fine with every six days as long as you have reserved 7 nights. There is a small risk when doing it that way. That risk would exist if, for the time period after the first 7 nights you have reserved, one or more of the type of rooms you want is scheduled to be out of service. A simple example: assume four rooms total in the category you want. You book 11 months out from a date but really want a week later. Unbeknownst to you when making the first reservation, there are actually only three rooms available that next week because of a scheduled refurb for which one is scheduled to be out of service. Now assume two days after you reserve, three others reserve a week and thus get all the available rooms for the first two days of the week you actually want, with the result that you are blocked out. I have never seen anyone report that they "lost" a walk by waiting six days but the possibility exists, causing some to suggest that all walks should be modified daily.

Talking to a CM at BWV, cash reservations for the villas average about 20 to 25% of the occupancy. That seems really high.

That does seem high. A CM couldn't be inaccurate with info could they?
