Wow, Happy New Year to Me! My EBay customer retracted negative feedback!

I had a hard time with the lovely post office this season. I shipped 10 items on 12/11 that took between 5 and 10 days to arrive PRIORITY MAIL.

I had tracking on all of them but I had one really ticked off customer who emailed me daily. After two emails to him explaining how I'm checking the process with the tracking number he writes me the nastiest email about NOT responding to him! :scared1:

I emailed him copies of the emails I sent him but he still reports a claim on PayPal and give me my first negative email in years!!:mad:

Regardless, I stayed on the PO and he eventually got his item. I sent him and Paypal daily updates and PP closed the case after he received it.

The guy CLAIMED he'd retract the feedback but never did. I checked with eBay and sent a form asking for a retraction. The feedback went from:

Original Feedback rating (16-December-2009): Negative
Original comment: Seller does not respond to emails, No verification of item actually shipping!!!!
Revised Feedback rating (31-December-2009): Positive
Revised comment: Outstanding Service and Follow - UP Highly Recommended Seller

EBay's feedback system sucks eggs but at least I got some recourse in this case.:thumbsup2
 
That's shameful. It's not right that a buyer can leave feedback that states no contact or proof of shipping when you can prove otherwise. Ebay should remove the feedback on their own. :mad:
 
Stressed people during the holiday season. Glad they saw the light and changed the feedback. Wouldn't it be nice to be relaxed one holiday season and enjoy friends and family? Happy New Year!!

I agree but they don't. I even had the label printed on PayPal so they had all of the information. Like anything in life I have to control what happens to me when other people don't step up to the plate... :sad2:

I'm just glad it was able to be retracted and gave me back my 100% feedback!:yay:

I'm glad everything worked out for you. I haven't sold in a long time and have some items that I would like to list, but things have gotten so stacked against sellers that I can't work up the enthusiasm to list them. I got to the point where I only took Paypal because I didn't want to deal with possibly bad personal checks and money orders became another opportunity for fraud. Now, Paypal will rule with a buyer under some pretty ridiculous situations. Grrr...:headache:

I don't know how well informed the postmistress is at our little local p.o., but when I mailed a dozen or so Ebay sales right before Xmas via priority, she told me that it's "just like regular mail except it goes air instead of truck, and can take weeks at this time of year, the dates given are just an approximate". I know one of my items got downstate (about ten hours away) the NEXT DAY, and another, going just two states away, took over a week. Frustrating!!!!
