I just can't believe how patient you all are - and I genuinely mean that as a compliment, not a snarky reply. I really wish I had more patience for the everyday hassles. I'd far rather skip a vacation completely and enjoy netflix and popcorn at home or drive to the local beach vs dealing with the aggravation I'm seeing on these threads the past year.

I wait 30 min tops for any vacation-related product or service. If a company can't offer a callback option; a self-serve web option and doesn't come to the phone by then, buh bye. I don't book or purchase.

If a doctor's office keeps me waiting longer than 60 min, I leave and find another provider.

I guess because I freelance, I'm forced to monetize time more than the average person. The only way I earn a living is by physically working each hour: there's zero paid vacay, sick or personal time off. So sitting on hold for 2-3 hours during a workday is a painful paycheck cut. I won't do business with a company that doesn't value my time.

I've had a lot to say on this topic, but I've only had the miserable phone wait times once - back in the spring of 2020 when I cancelled my APs and I realized I was going to have to cancel some trips. I guess I waited an hour or two on the AP line. I was a lot more forgiving back then.

Otherwise, my angelic Dreams Unlimited travel agent (I ❤ Allison) has handled all of the foolishness of cancelling, modifying, rebooking, etc. for me. I can only hope that the travel agent portal is easier to work with and that they have a phone line with people that actually answer the phone.
