Wow, even I am offended, and I don't offend easily! David Banner.

Has anybody here actually heard of David Banner, the rap / hip hop "artist"? I must say that until recently I had heard the name, but not the "music".

So I am supposed to DJ a high school function and the advisor says to me "I'll have a more complete list later, but under NO CIRCUMSTANCES can you play ANYTHING from David Banner". He said the kids love him but no way could we play it.

So, I had to go and listen to it. I typed his name in to iTunes and listened to 30 seconds of the most downloaded song by him. This is what our kids are listening to? "Yikes" is all I can say! TOTALLY inappropriate for most anybody, and totally disgusting. This makes the "2 Live Crew" stuff look kinda mild, if you remember how that was an issue 15 years ago.

I hope that I as a parent, will be able to keep a handle on this when mmy kids get bigger. It is "music" like this that brings us further and further from where we should be.

Sorry I'm am old fogie at 29 and have never heard of him. When I read the name all I could think of was the Hulk. That was the guy's name when he wasn't mean and green, right?

Yup. He's had a couple songs banned off radio in the UK. He's racy with a capital "R". I think Hef would blush with some of his lyrics.

I'm an old fogie too at 32. No idea who he was. Of course I had to look him up, went to Amazon not expecting them to have clips if it was that bad but of course they did.

2 Live Crew is kids stuff compared to his lyrics.
