I bought our tickets on the first day they were released, and paid for EBC at that time. Just printed my Boarding Passes - A48-52! I'm so surprised!

This is the latest in the A's we've ever been - and I didn't think anyone could have beaten us buying the airfare on the day it opened. There must be a lot of frequent fliers or people that bought their tickets even earlier than me? Well, 47 of them, just on this flight!

:confused3

It's a mystery about the order SW uses. It doesn't seem to be just by time purchased, it may also include fare purchased. People have posted several times that they know someone who purchased EBCI after them and got an earlier number.

Ahhh, That makes sense. I paid for the cheapest airfare possible. Thanks!

Thanks! Flying is a treat for us - We'll be happy just to be on the flight!

My husband just printed ours for tomorrow and with EBCI we still got the high B's. We did use points for our trip so I guess that is why. It doesn't seem like a bargain (extra $50 round trip for two) to get EBCI. We have 6 in our family (all adults) going in May 2014 so $25 x 6= $150 may not be worth it and we may just take our chances.

Keep in mind A1-15 are reserved for business class passengers. So the lowest number you could get is A16.

Those of us who purchase a Wanna Get Away fare and add EBCI will get our boarding numbers after they are assigned for A List Preferred, A List and those who purchased Anytime fares plus EBCI. As mentioned in an earlier post, they start assigning positions to the groups listed above with A16 since A1-A15 are reserved for Business Select fare passengers. Anything left in A1-A15 is available to anyone willing to pay $40 at the gate to upgrade their boarding position.

Our most recent experience was similar to the OP's. I purchased tickets the day the schedule opened and added EBCI. I did reprice our tickets one month later which, based on anecdotal evidence, changes your EBCI purchase date to the reprice date. I got A60. In the early days of EBCI I would regularly get A17 or so but not any longer.

We purchased the lowest fare possible a few months ago. I added the Early Bird check-in on Wednesday, and printed A24 & A25 just this morning for our sold-out flight tomorrow. Better yet, our connecting flight is on AirTran and DD15 and I have seats together. Whew!

Yeah, that's what is weird, my flight isn't even sold out! :confused3

Watch, the flight only has 100 passengers, but we all paid for EBCI :lmao:

Flight might not originate there, so might be A24, but will be 80 people on the plane when you board..
