Wow Cutback hours

I have to say how dissapointing it is to see the hours for our 2016 trip.

We are night owls and love the parks at night. And looking over the hours for Feb/March 2016, I'm a little stunned at how short the hours are going to be. I know "always subject to change" and all that. But between Extra Magic Hours cutbacks to only 2 hours, not to mention the rumours of them going away altogether. I'm a little worried for our future experiences at Disney parks. It seems, at least for the time period that we go in ( cause I know hours are longer other times of the year ), staying at MK until or past midnight is a thing of the past.

I know hours are always different depending on time of year, but we've always enjoyed at least a couple of "late evenings"... I know it's "just business"... still dissapointing...

( Guess we'll see though if hours get extended as our dates get closer... that's also been known to happen )

Been known to happen…

Early-posted park hours on the calendars are always (ALWAYS, every single month) subject to change as the dates get closer.

Not expecting every day to get an adjustment, but Disney has added hours and events to early-posted dates on the calendar every single month for years.

I'm Going next month and Magic Kingdom Closes at 7pm for 3 Halloween parties on my trip. Thats a lot of parties.

If you go during slower seasons you get to do a lot more in a lot less time, but late hours are not an option. If you go during busier seasons you get later hours, but most of the day is wasted in long lines.

Each of us has to decide which is more important. Late March is a great time to go if late hours is your thing (spring break/Easter).

I don't think this is a change. I do not ever remember late hours during WDW's slower seasons.

We're going in February next year. I reviewed this years Feb hours and noticed they updated them in October and again in January.

I have heard those parties are AMAZING worth every cent and I was told this by folks that do not even like Halloween FYI ;)

It's is way to early to wail about a cutback in hours. The ones that are up now are just the minimum you might expect. As the PPs have remarked, these will be added on to in the future. And will continue to be changed, conceivably right to the actual park day.

Disney cut back on evening EMH hours a year or two ago. I do miss the 3 hour ones. By that 3rd hour, the parks were empty which may be why they cut those down to 2 hours.

The normal park hours will change a few times before your trip.

The Halloween party is worth it IMHO. You get Trick or Treating which can be fun. The parade and fireworks are really good. The christmas one is worth doing once. I don't think that is as good as a value as the Halloween one.
