WOW, Alamo in Sept

I have been trying to get a decent rate for a long weekend in Sept. 18-21 to be exact. I checked again, and the base rate was about 134, before taxes. OUCH. I used code 430710, which I got from Mousesavers, and the $15 coupon which is on the Alamo website. My total, with taxes, dropped to $52.xx!!! I am thrilled!

I noticed last night that the rates for our early Sept trip dropped about $40 . This is a similar pattern to what I have seen in the past.

My rate too dropped about $40 for 11 day rental. However, I haven't been able to get the free driver with the WM code (430710) which I have used for years and has always inc. the free driver. I wonder if it's because I'm using an Entertainment coupon (though I've done the exact same thing over the past 3-4 years and always gotten the free driver ) It's not a big deal since my DM doesn't really drive-I usually do all the driving. Just curious.

The Wal-mart code should include the extra driver and doesn't matter what coupon you are using with it. We have the Wal-Mart code booked right now with an Entertainment coupon and it lists the free additional driver. I think you are using the wrong code, it is 430710. you transposed the 7 and 1. Who knows what the code you have is for.

ETA: Ahhh...got it...the only way I found it to work was pick up at MCO....drop off can be at Car Care Center, but it doesn't work if you pickup/dropoff at CCC....

In early May I reserved through Dollar using code OOAG (from Mousesaver's site.) I didn't see any info about a free additional driver with Dollar Express, but Alamo didn't have good prices so I skipped them. I would really like to change to Alamo and get that benefit, however, I got such a good deal when I booked (Sept 12-19, Premium SUV, from Dollar at Regal Sun for $266) that I will gladly drive my dh and family around to the parks of my choice.

Acutally I put the # wrong in my post. I am using 430710 which is the one I have used for years. No free driver deal shows up. I do get 26.56 off but no free driver. This has been happening since I first started checking rates back in April (this also inc. the other WM code on Mousesavers)

And you're right it's not the Enter. coupon because I tried it w/o (used Alamo's E coupon) and still no free driver). I've even tried on other computers (same location) and no luck. Like I said, I'm not really worried about it since I do all the driving anyway. Welll, 98%, at least.

The contract ID in your pasted information is the Entertainment contract ID not the Walmart code.

My wife also usually does all the driving, but it is nice to have the free additional driver in case something comes up where I have to drive.

Acutally I was playing around with it again and came to the same conclusion-I was entering it under Rate/Product code, not contract ID. I did and now all is good-free extra driver just in case I need to nap in the car and my DM can take over for awhile! (Same rate )
