Wow! A little stunned right now...

A friend of a friend had DVC points that were going to expire this month so she offered them to us and starting THIS MONDAY we are staying in a 1-bed at OKW until Friday and then after the weekend we'll be back to stay in a 1-bed at SSR starting Monday and checking out on Wednesday!

I'm a little stunned. I have a 8-month old and so there's a lot of stuff to pack for her (thank goodness that there will be a washer/dryer) and I don't know anything about the DVC!

But I'm really excited. Guess I'd better start packing and getting everything ready ASAP!

I'm going to be surfing through these forums but any advice for a first-time staying in a DVC villa (are they all villas?) would be appreciated.

WOW! You have a nice friend! The Villas all have pack and plays so no need to bring anything for the baby to sleep in. Just bring your stroller and stuff you normally bring for your baby when you go somewhere...

And if you plan on using the pool do not forget swim diapers

Super nice friend, wow! You will love your stays in the DVC villas. Full kitchens, and you can set up a grocery delivery or just stop at the store and stock up. I assume you are driving, so buying your own groceries is probably easy enough. Since you will be there for a few days, you won't need to rush to see everything and can just enjoy being immersed in Disney. Yaay! You will probably become addicted and then be craving Disney like the rest of us . Have a great time!

OKW and SSR are all villas.

OKW has a beachy vibe and its 1BRs are nearly 1000 sq ft - a lot of room. SSR is a little more luxury-oriented but a little smaller.

you won't get a full cleaning or beds made by mousekeeping at any point during your stay, but you will get a "trash and towel" service on the 4th day of your OKW stay.

With Trash & Towel service, Housekeeping will:

Empty trash and replace liners in trash bins.
Provide fresh bathroom linens.
Replace shampoo, facial soap and bath soap.
Replenish facial tissues, paper towels and toilet paper.
Replenish coffee, sugar, cream and sweeteners.
Replenish dishwashing liquid, dishwashing detergent, sponges and laundry detergent as needed in one-, two- and three-bedroom Vacation Homes.

you will get a starter pack of coffee but you may want to bring your own...

After your OKW 1 bedroom stay, you will be spoiled though! With a baby, you are going to LOVE all the extra room at OKW and that separate laundry room in the unit over the stackables at SSR will be very much appreciated.

Be sure to take the baby over to the sand play area near HH at OKW! Oh, and the main pool at SSR has a really cute water play area too.
