Would you visit MK on a Monday if it was your first day?

Our first park day will be a Monday. We've moved our trip up a week (woo-hoo, no Pop Warner!) and while my sister is furious that we won't be going with her, I'm thrilled.

I can't imagine going anywhere other than MK for our first day, especially since the kids in the group are all 1st timers. Where would you go on Nov. 28th?

Thanks

Shel

We always go to MK on the first day of our trip no matter what day we arrive. We always have to start out our trip this way. Seeing the castle on our way down Main Street is a great way to begin our vacation at WDW.

Oh yes! We will arrive on Sunday and are planning to hit MK on monday, since we have an almost 3yodd who will love it.

Our WDW vacations have to start out at the MK, no matter what day we arrive. We don't feel like we are really there until we walk down Main Street and see the castle! :cool1:

But I would jump to another park after you get some magic from MK.Mondays are in general big crowd day at MK. :goodvibes :) :flower:

Do NOT visit the Magic Kingdom on the Monday after Thanksgiving weekend. Tuesday the 29th is a MVMCP night, MK will be empty during the day because most people went to MK on Monday and they don't want to go to MK on a night when MVMCP is being held because the park closes at 6.

I should note that we plan on spending at least 3 days at MK, so we'll almost certainly be there on Tuesday as well. I don't know if that makes a difference.

Curious...I've read that mondays are not suggested, but there are two weeks of the entire year that are rated '1' as far as crowds go and while Sunday after Thanksgiving is an '8', the Monday is a '1', so historically it has lower crowds than any other day of the week 50 weeks of the year. But then I don't know that that part of the UG is super reliable. Even with that knowledge, would you still say MK is a no-go?

Shel

Any thoughts?

YES - do MK. Get a fast pass for Pooh or Buzz. Kids want to hear a song in thier heads all day - go to It's A Small World. Fun time - ride Cinderella's Carosel or do the Tea Pots. They really are fun for all ages.

Do you know about what time ?

You can always drop your luggage off at tour WDW resort and hop on
the transportation to MK.

Make an ADR for lunch, late lunch, early dinner - what ever time
you think you will be there.

You did not mention the ages of the kids.
Crystal Place is a buffet to please all palets and has Pooh, Piglet, Eeyor and Tigger to meet. It has A/C, and is a nice place to rest weary bodies after traveling. menu: http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_cpl.htm

The Plaza is also nice- everything is ala cart - see web-site for menu
http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_pr.htm
I think you can do an ADR for The Plaza too.

Buy a chocolate Mickey Bar and sit on a bench and enjoy.

See if a show is to be performed at the Castles in the afternoon - a nice way to get into the WDW spirit.

YES - MK on day 1 - always :cloud9:

:) Oh goodie! Actually, we'll arrive on Saturday, spend Sunday at VWL and FW, see the electric water pageant that night, go to bed early, and then on Monday morning be at the park bright and shiny.

We'll have a preschooler, a preteen, a teenager, and a young toddler. This will be a first-time experience for all of them.

I just read so many things about avoiding Mondays...as far as dh is concerned, we could spend 5 days at MK and 2 at the other parks and he'll be pleased as punch, lol.

Thanks

Shel

What would you do if you arrive at your hotel (in our case the WL) at 2 o'clock on a Saturday?

My plan was to either go to MGM or go to MK and catch Cinderellabration if I could and maybe the parade? :confused3
