Would you switch from POP to a MOD....

I love POP! I wouldn't pay to upgrade, especially if it's just you and your DD. But it all depends on what you want. I like having a food court, because my kids are young and don't always want to have a table service. We also like walking over to Art of Animation and eating a meal or two there. Values have refrigerators now, no freezer, but you can still put milk, drinks, etc in there. We've always had excellent bus service there, too. If you want queen beds, a quieter resort, and a boat ride to DTD, then I would upgrade.

Depends on how old your DD is. We stayed at POP many times when DD was younger she loved it. We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside last June and paid extra for a preferred room to make sure it had been refurbed. The outside of the resort was not kept clean at all. There was a glove (from the maid) for 3 days of our stay on the sidewalk. Did not like the food court as well as the POP either. The upside was the queen beds and it was close to the bus stop, but that was with the upgrade. We won't stay there again, we love CSR but it was booked last year.

YES, but beware if next trip you're going back to POP. We surprised our Boys with a few nights at Animal Kingdom Lodge & fell in love!! After that we bought into DVC b/c we had been spoiled.;)

I totally agree with this. Once I stayed at Old Key West there was no going back. It just felt like "home" staying there and the large room sizes were great as I didn't feel right on top of everything. Then however we stayed at Animal Kingdom Villas and now nothing else compares!

ita. can't go back after. LOL

Probably not unless you are going to make use of the resort a lot. If it's just a place to sleep I probably wouldn't.
I say this and we have stayed in everything from off property to value to deluxe concierge to 2 bedroom villas and even a few grand villas at deluxe resorts.

Disney doesn't have fridges in the rooms at POP? They do at the All Stars.

I wouldn't do it. First of all because Pop is a fine enough resort, especially because I don't spend any time at the hotel unless it's for sleeping.

Mostly, I wouldn't do it because that money could just go somewhere else! Imagine the merchandise you could take home with that! To me, that is just the dealbreaker.

I would stay at Pop. Have stayed at both Pop (twice) and POR (once) and I actually prefer Pop. To me it was more fun - but vacations to us is not about lounging by the pool or hanging out at the resort, we open and close the parks :yay:
We do use the pools, arcade etc at the hotel but we do not do a whole day of it. The $300 you do not spend by switching to a mod could be spent elsewhere ;)

No,I wouldn't...for just 2 people, and that 35.00 a day could be spent elsewhere on your trip.....I like the mods, but not worth it IMHO
