I would really like to stay at the Wilderness Lodge during our upcoming visit Dec18-23rd. Would you reserve a standard view room now (rack rate) and when you get there ask to be upgraded? The week before Christmas is suppose to be one of low attendence. Anyone know how feasible this might be?

I'm hoping for AP discount coming out end of August. If I can get that at the standard view and then upgrade to a woods view-Magic Kingdom view, then I would be tickled to death! :sunny:

WL is such a nice place to stay :) I would book the view that you will be happy with and comfortable paying for....if you don't get your upgrade, will you be super disappointed? If not, then I would go ahead and book standard and hope for the best. If the upgrade does not happen and it will negatively affect your stay, then I would re-consider. Personally, I'd be happy in a standard view room at WL so it would not bother me. HTH.....

Not at the WL! It is a very popular resort at Christmas time - many locals fill the resort on weekend because they like the theming so much.

A friend tried getting a TA discount at the WL in early December, but was told that none were available. They did have some at the VWL.
