So.... DH and I were planning on surprising the kids with a vacation. I have already planned the entire surprise and would be revealing it next Saturday. However, the trip is not until June 2012. My kids are older so they can wait. DS asked me last night about his presents for Hanukkah. Normally we ask they kids what they want for presents and since we haven't this year he is getting suspicious. Today, I was looking online at disneyworld.com making some ADRs. He walked into the room to ask a homework question and I changed the window relatively quickly to google. As I was looking at the question, he was looking over my shoulder and could possibly see that the title of disneyworld.com in the minimized tab. He suddenly got really excited and shouted "AHHHH!!!" I turned around worried about what he saw and asked what was wrong and he responded by saying "nothing". I am now second guessing this whole surprise. I'm probably over thinking this but I don't know what I should do.

:thumbsup2 I would still do the surprise. We gave my nephew a wdw calendar and had the days counted off, > so he knew how many to go every day. The look on his face ** priceless **. Don't deprive yourself of that. He might be suspicisous but not sure at this point till they get the gift.

:thumbsup2

I'd still do it, but maybe make that the last gift or even better, a few hours after the "last" gift.

While your kids are older than mine- I found many ways to bend the truth to keep the surprise factor going for our girls. I had this whole elaborate story going for months (which was partly true) about me helping their friends' mom plan their Disney trip and I was doing some research. My girls are just starting to read, so we were able to get to the main gate and surprise them there, but we had such an elaborate tapestry of fibs to keep them in the dark. With Hanukkah starting on Wednesday night- I think it's worth spinning it to keep the surprise until then or whenever you choose to let them know. Totally worth it and doable! :thumbsup2

*EDIT- ok- I'm a day behind with my Hanukkah timing and my work schedule. I got so caught up in postponing my first night festivities to night 2 that I guess I convinced myself that nt1 was on a different night. Oh well- I still say go for the surprise.

Thank you guys for the reassurance! I am going to go for it! Thanks again! :)

You scared me for a minute there! :goodvibes

I'm always a little paranoid on the first night. Haven't missed it yet but for some reason I'm always convinced I will.

Have fun with it! We surprised our boys 3 yrs ago and it was so worth it. You could always trying catching him off-guard with something else that is Disney related and say that is what you were working on when he saw you.
