I wouldn't mind staying there for one night, just to experience it. There's a lounge area, and bathrooms, so you only go to the capsule when you're ready to go to sleep. You have your own TV, and you could read a book too. I just wonder how the soundproofing is, having others all around you. It would be "something different" that's for sure. The only thing I wouldn't like is if I'm traveling with my DH we'd have to sleep in separate areas.

I wouldn't like it for a hotel room, but I think that I would sign up for it on an airplane flight across the Atlantic.

Absolutely! I'm dying to go to Japan. I'd love to spend at least one night at one of these capsule hotels.

Hmmm, one of my former employees is going to Japan for two weeks after HS graduation. She was raving that she's got a great rate for a hotel room. I need to ask her if she's claustrophobic now!

All I can say is that the tube makes me think of getting an MRI. Also, I can imagine how this would prove that our spouses snore when they're confined to a small space to sleep, lol! Can you just imagine how LOUD that would be in such a small space?

I also think airports would be a great place for that kind of accomodation!

My thoughts exactly! For long layovers or cancelled flights, etc.

Those are quite popular in Japan. I remember an episode of Amazing Race where they had to spend the night in one.

My issue would be going to the bathroom in the middle of the night and running into strangers

I'd do it for the experience--it's just for sleeping. And I could definitely see these in airports!

At the end of the new Killers video they stay in a capsule hotel. So I looked it up.

I don't know if I would stay there or not. I think on one hand it would be really cool experience. But on the other hand I am kind of claustrophobic.
