Would you stand in line with groceries while there was a fire in the store?

A fire occurred in a grocery store in Annapolis, MD. People stayed in line with their groceries even after the fire dept. arrived and told them to get out. :confused3 :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Now I can see leaving my cart in line, but my kids, purse & I would be out the door, thank you very much.
What would you have done?

see. I wouldn't think, and I would try to get out with my cart. And then the police would be there too! :rotfl: :rotfl:

The groceries would be left in the dust as I booked it out of there.

Hmm... stand in line to keep my place and burn to death or exit the store and save my life. :scratchin Not exactly a tough choice for me -- I'm getting OUT!

High tailed it out of there! :earseek:

That happened at a grocery store near here not too long ago. The store went up like a match, it had started in an aisle next to the aisle with all the chemicals for sale, and once those caught the whole building just ignighted. Only the quick thinking of a store employee saved the day when he pulled the alarm. Fortunatly all the shoppers took it seriously. The building burned to the ground.

Depends on how bad I felt about the soda I was drinking without paying for :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I wouldn't want to steal ;)

Just who do the people waiting in line think are going to ring up their groceries? I would think the store employees and cashiers wouldn't hang around to ring up the people in line while there was a fire. :confused3

I would take the kids and leave the cart and leave the store.

Several months back, someone posted an article talking about how people just freeze in a moment of crisis. The article stated that the reason many lives are lost is because people don't have a clear plan of action and wait for someone to tell them what to do.

It was an interesting article and really stresses the need for preparedness (even if it's just mental preparedness).

hey all,
this is nothiong new.for some reason if people can not see or smell the smoke or flames, they think its safe even if 10 people are running out of the building screaming fire.some just don't get how fast a fire can really spread until there trapped themselves.this is the number one reason why some need to be rescued from fires.they spend too much time trying to pack there important stuff and get traped.others just think i leave if i see or smell smoke and there exit is overcome by fire or smoke and now there trapped.

How odd. I would never even think to stay there! Groceries are just not that important!!

I would leave 50 cents for the two bananas my kids had consumed earlier - grab Cantw8 by the scruff of the neck, causing her to spill her ill-gotten "pop" (not soda!) down her shirt and we'd book out of the joint.

See. I told you all you were going to hell in a handbasket. That's why it's so wrong to eat food you haven't paid for yet.

:snooty: :snooty: :snooty:

Wait, Pam. We have to leave $1.50 for the National Enquirer I glanced at in line also :rotfl2: :rotfl2: My bad. :moped:

And the animal crackers???? What about those? Do you intend to pay for those too?

I'm sorry, I stuffed them up my nose to stop it from running, I didn't want to steal tissues too

I'd have to stay since I had already opened my bottle of soda and needed to pay for it!

I'd be outta there and on my way to another grocery store before the fire dept could clog the parking lot with hoses.
