Would you spend a day at DCA by yourself?

I'm glad you're going to give it a try!

I most certainly would and have spent days by myself in both parks! I love it and wish I could do it more often!

To be fair, though, I am very independent and used to being by myself. The people who are not used to really having a lot of solo time (and who like being surrounded by family and friends) may have a harder time of it on a solo trip.

I can stroll around both parks for hours and hours and hours (and days!) by myself, doing nothing but taking photos. That's what I love to do. That's what brings me joy - taking lots and lots of photos, leisurely looking in the shops, noticing the little details around the parks that I might otherwise skip when I am with people, spotting the gorgeous flowers, etc. I don't have to feel like I am holding anyone up or boring them with the things I am interested in!

I will also end up chatting with folks I meet during the course of my day - sometimes CM's and sometimes other guests.

The times when I really 'notice' being alone at DLR are when it comes time to eat and enjoy rides. I have discovered about myself that I like having company when I'm dining or riding rides. There's something fun about being able to laugh with a friend about getting splashed on POTC or sitting in a puddle!:rotfl2:

Aside from eating and rides, though, I love my alone time. I love having a hotel room to myself too! It used to be that my friends would stay with me in the hotel room for at least a couple of nights, but more and more these days on holiday trips I am staying solo at the Paradise Pier Hotel!

Ten or 20 years ago, I never would have considered or imagined that I could go to DLR by myself and have fun! It would not have been on my radar to do that. I love to see my friends (who I don't get to see very often) and we have a great time together, but having the solo experience in addition to "friend time" helps me enjoy my DLR trips in a whole different way!

I do it all the time both at DL & WDW. Some trips I am with family or friends and some trips are me trips and some are split between spending some time with friends & some time alone. As others have said, it's really nice to not have to consult with others about which rides to go on , where to eat, etc. I like having the hotel room to myself, not having to share the bathroom, no worrying about disturbing a room mate. I have one group of friends who would eat at Hungry Bear & Rancho Zocalo every meal if they could. I rather go to DCA & eat at Pacific Wharf or somewhere in New Orleans Square in DL. I have another friend who will say she's hungry but then decide she wants to go on a ride we are passing by & then will buy an Ice cream or pretzel so she's no longer hungry & I'm stuck needing a meal then she blames me for not picking a place to eat the second she said she was hungry. So some times I definitely prefer being on my own.

YES! I did a solo 3 day trip last summer to DL and stayed at the DLH and had a fantastic time :thumbsup2

I had my first solo Disney experience last weekend (after 30 years of going to the parks!). It was very liberating... I spent about 6 hours in Disneyland alone and I loved it. I also love shopping at DLR since I don't get there more than once a year, but my family hates shopping so this worked out to my benefit!!

I'm not sure I would do an entire trip alone, because I'm so used to talking and sharing the experiences, but for one day of my trip it was perfect.

I also noticed that there were many other solo travelers; no one looks twice. Have fun!!

Ahhh.......I think that I would just eat and shop through the parks!

Solo trips can be the best. No one to tell you what to do and you can go at your own pace.

Even better. Single rider line on radiator springs racers!

:lmao: "Grown up rides"

Maybe not a zillion times or this will be your "grown up ride"

Yes I'd do it.

okay, yes...I meant the rides that our shorter kids can't fit on.

YES. I just did it and it was wonderful. No DH, no kids to tell me what they wanted to do. I came and went as I pleased!
