Would you sell for $85.00 pp?

Not me either.....but then again I wouldn't buy at $85 a point either...

Really?

I thought everyone was familiar with the bear necessities of FOOD, CLOTHING, VACATION PROPERTY.

For $85 pp I'd seriously think about selling. We've been using our points for trading more than for staying at Disney. Our upcoming Easter trip will be the first time in 3 years we've been down there. The only thought that keeps us holding on to them is that we have enough to spend Jan and part of Feb down there when we retire!

I have a price (as I believe everyone has), it just isn't $85.00 or anything close to it.

With resale prices in the $85.00 per point range for the onsite properties, how many people will consider selling?
Despite several giving you a hard time about your figure (why I don't know), Nope.

I'd consider selling our small VWL add-on...but the money would go towards another OKW contract (at a lower price). We really enjoy the theming of the Lodge and it's villas, but we enjoy OKW infinitely more.

I would unload mine, anyone want my 250 at SSR for $79.00 per point?

We're RV & truck shopping...

Whoa! That was quick. Has the ink even dried on your contract?

I go through the thought of selling. My average price is $61 and we've accumulated 870 points. We love vacationing at WDW however we also love doing other things. Some of the exchage values aren't that great. It's a great value if you always stay at WDW, especially non-weekends.

I've done some looking at other timeshare rentals and home rentals and there are some incredible values out there... however I bet the accomodations and service are NOT equal to Disney's.

The jury is still out with us. We want a place to go when we retire, we've got it!!! I'm not sure we could easily give it up :).

To answer your question, no, I wouldn't consider selling at any price unless our family started to show a collective lack of interest in vacationing at WDW. To us, DVC isn't a stock to be sold when the price reaches a certain level--it's a discount (or upgrade if you prefer) to our vacation accommodations for up to 50 years.

Since our average cost per point on our 502 points is $60, we would do a little better than breakeven at $72 a point after 15% brokers fees, and we've already had 7 years of DVC vacations. So we would not sell right now, but it is nice to know we are not taking a bath, either. We have considered selling our DVC to put a downpayment on our own winter vacation home down there.

I wouldn't sell--NO WAY! We will hopefully close on our resale soon. I'm actually thinking that we should buy more points!

Does anybody know what the tax implications would be? We own a lease, not the actual property. I have no idea how the gain would be calculated. Just wondering.
