Hi Just looking at my plan and was wondering if you guys thought Aquatica was worth the money.DB not really fussed as wats to do the disney water parks but I have not been before and DD wated to go. I have looked at clips and read reviews, some good some bad.My dd is only just 8 and not long ditched her armbands and is not that keen on the fast water rides.Aquatica through seaworld are charging child price for adult at $41 +taxes but dont know whether to spend this else where and spend that day at the universal parks again as only allowed one day to visit these.
What do you think.

Hi

We did Aquatica this August for the first time.
I was not looking forward to it as I am a big Typhoon Lagoon fan, but we all enjoyed the day there. The US kids had gone back to school, so not much queing, but I would imagine in peak times, the wait times could be quite long.
have a look at my trippie for the day we spent there.

Weve been 6 times and still not done it yet....on our to do list...lol:rotfl:

kids do love the disney waterparcs though, i think im just tight and when i have a disney ticket covering it have been unwilling to pay more, plus we still have little ones and i dont think waterparks are great for babies (not all day anyhow!)

Also jack was 7 on our last trip and jess 10, both had just learned to swim confidently,(jess has swam for a while but lacked confidence ) jess did more rides, jack didnt do any other than lazy river, they all seemed so big and scarry for him.

No, did it once, wouldn't have any desire to do it again - it's not bad but theres nothing special about it - same as Wet N' Wild (although Aquatica is atleast a bit better than WNW). I'm just sticking to the Disney Waterparks next time :)

Hi

We have our 6th visit booked for next Sept :goodvibes- Have done all the waterparks with family and two children last time aged 8 and 11 - by far the family favourite is Blizzard Beach closely followed by Typhoon Lagoon :cool1:- did Aquatica this June - was VERY busy and the slides were a bit full on - they do however have the best fast river rapids which you wear a life vest on so no danger with children and a funky wet playframe which kids loved - I personally feel that the disney water parks are more family friendly - something for everyone - Im sure you will find many varied opinions on here:rotfl2: and at the end of the day whats right for one family is not going to be the same for another:cool2:

Sx
PS
When we go next year we are not planning on going back to aquatica - we had a family vote over last Sunday lunch!!

We visited Aquatica in 2008 and 2009 and really enjoyed ourselves. I agree with WSussex. The rapids where you wear a life jacket are great fun. There are also some good family raft rides. When we bought tickets we bought them as a Sea World/Aquatica joint ticket. We didn't visit in 2010 as we wanted to spend more time at US/IOA due to the HP rides. We ended up visiting US/IOA on 4 occasions when we normally only visit twice.

Thanks for all the advice. We have decided to leave it for now and decided to play it by ear.I have my AA card which apparently gives a small discount at the gate but will probably spend the time at IOA. Def doing TL and BB.:thumbsup2

Aquatica has a fabulous kiddy area - mine are 6 and 8 and had a blast. Absolutely a must do!

We all really enjoyed Aquatica, the kiddies area is amazing, out two were 4 & 3 on our last trip there and they really loved it. DH and I also enjoyed the slides etc. The one thing that I loved about Aquatica was how clean it was, the changing areas and showers were constantly being cleaned while you were in there.

If I'm honest, my local pool at home was cleaner than the Disney parks, we went to TL after Aquatica and were really dissapointed with it. We will go to TL again but only becuase it's included in our tickets, otherwise I would rather spend the extra and go to aquatica.

Gems :goodvibes
