Would you sacrifice lower crowd levels for a better hotel?

We are currently booked at Tropicana Inn and Suites (and have a back up reservation at the Del Sol) for January 25-29. Most of the better hotels are sold out the first two nights of our stay due to the NAMM convention. If I change our dates to a week earlier I can get the BWPPI or FFI but the crowd levels will probably be higher b/c of the marathon and MLK weekend. So would you sacrifice the lower crowd levels just to get a better hotel?

Honestly, Tropicana is fine (I've stayed there three times and will stay again) so if crowds are going to be lower, I'd stick with that reservation.

Whooooa Nellie!!!

We went once not realizing it was MLK weekend. Saturday and Sunday were a mess. Monday was only a little better. It didn't lighten up until Wednesday when we were leaving.

NEVER again on a three day holiday weekend.

That's not enough of a hotel improvement for me to make that sacrifice! I say stay and enjoy the lighter crowds. It's SUCH a different and more pleasant experience.

we went on MLK weekend in 2011 and had no issues at all. It wasn't dead but we had no issues getting around and were able to get on most rides with ease. The evenings got pretty busy but in the mornings and early afternoon it was great.

Thank you for the responses. I guess I'll keep our dates as is. I would hate to be in the parks if the crowds can get that bad. Originally we were supposed to go Christmas week and then decided to postpone the trip to avoid the high crowd levels. We will only have 3 full days in the parks so lower crowds it is.

I totally agree with GeneralTso here!:thumbsup2
