Would you recommend Cirque Du Soleil?

I quite fancy going but tickets are quite pricey and it probably isn't my DS's scene (he is 11) that doesn't bother me too much, I have to ride Hulk over and over so he can sit through a show but I am wondering whether it is worth the money. I'd appreciate your opinions please :)

We went last year and IMO it is worth every penny - fabulous show. DH, I and DD11 all really enjoyed it and believe me it's hard to find something we all love!

Another thumbs up from us. Dd thought it was great and i have been twice but dh says its not his scene.
Just booked for the Blue man group at Universal studios for something new this time.

My DH waited 10 years to go - I finally bought him tickets for a Christmas present when we went in December. He said it was worth the wait!:thumbsup2

I thought it was OK but after all the rave reviews was dissapointed, If I had not read anything and gone with open mind I would have enjoyed it more I am sure but everyone told me it was the best show ever, brilliant etc.
Personally I prefer seeing shows like Blood Brothers, Whistle down the wind or a Disney musical like Lion King, Beauty and the Beast Etc. Could sit through these time and time again, once was enough for Cirque.
DS and DW would see it again they really enjoyed it.
We are going to Vegas in Oct going to try a different one maybe "Love".

For me, this says it all. Go with limited expectations and I'm sure you'll have a great time. It's a while since we went and I think maybe we should give it another whirl, but it definitely suffers from all the hype, IMHO. Whatever anyone tells you, it is a circus. A very slick, polished circus, granted, but a circus nonetheless - clowns included.

As with many other things, you need to go along and make up your own mind. I agree that the cost probably clouds the issue, but provided you don't build it up to be something it isn't, you shouldn't be disappointed. My favourite bits are the cotton-reel spinning (Thai?) girls and the gymnasts who scale the sides of "buildings".

We went and my son was 13 and daughter was 11 when they seen it and we all absolutely loved it.

I've heard nothing but good reports about it - haven't seen it personally so can't comment, but for some reason it doesn't appeal to me at all. I'd rather spend more time in the parks or in the pool!:)
