Would you rebook to save 33.77?

Saving $33 on a $3300 vacation is pennies. It does not compare to paying $34 for a $1 candy bar.

If you rebook to save 1% of your trip price then the same comparison would be asking if you would pay 1% more for a $1 candy bar.

Apples to Apples.

Apples to apples would say yes, you would always rebook to save $34.

I think the OP's question IS whether or not this is apples to apples.

Personally I would not rebook in this situation because in this case it would not be worth it for me to save $34 to deal with a 3rd party for my booking.

If I had a reservation thru Disney and then saw that if I could make a phone call and rebook thru Disney and save $34, then I'd do it.

i would really have to re-evaluate where i was going on vacation if i had to worry about 33 dollars. but like the others said..if you rebook....your about to get a 33 dollar headache...not for me

 Asking a question do not need your snarky reply.

Snarky or not, it's a valid point. In the grand scheme, $33 is minuscule compared to the total cost of your vacation. I'm having an $8000 deck put on my house this Spring and I've been hemming and hawing over $200 upgraded railings. I finally just went for it because when I'm spending 8K, what's $200? With that being said, if you have the time and energy to hassle with Orbitz and Disney, then by all means go for it. Personally, I just don't have that kind of time. And FWIW, I have had good experiences with Orbitz. They are very reputable. So I would have no qualms about booking with Orbitz. But I don't think it's worth going room only and buying tix separately if you already have a package booked.

Hey, savings are savings. I've rebooked flights on southwest for $5 flight difference.

Those $5 add up- we just flew to WDW for "free" on those unused travel funds last week.

FWIW - its much easier to rebook those flights on the Southwest web site than it is to book with Orbitz and then sit forever on hold with Disney to cancel your reservation. The re-booking process for Southwest takes all of 5 minutes through their web site, which I wouldn't bat an eye at for any amount.

For us it would save about $100, but I still chose not to rebook with Orbitz. Our package is paid for in full and we got the trip insurance. Plus we are staying at allstar sports with (hopefully) connected rooms. I.decided that the headache of dealing with all that plus having to get tickets as well was not worth it. $100 is a lot of money for us but piece of mind in my opinion is worth more.

Did you try the orbitz.com code, "SPRING20" ? This will knock off an additional 20% off of you reservation! :woohoo:

I re-booked with the Orbitz deal today. Didn't take any time at all. I booked it online, paid for it and then called Disney to cancel my ressie with them. To answer some questions I have seen in previous posts:

No, your ADR's will remain even when you cancel the WDW reservation. I specifically asked prior to cancelling with Disney. They have to be cancelled seperately so no worries there.

With Orbitz, you can book it as room only or add your tickets on.

Orbitz cxl policy is: I am arriving 5/13...fully refundable until 5/8. beyond 5/8 thru 11:59 pm 5/12, $244 cxl fee (most likely based on my resort rate). Any cxl on day of arrival from midnight is fully non-refundable.

No, I am not earning Disney reward dollars but I used my Discover card, went through the Orbitz link on my Discover account and will earn 5% cash back since I have a cash back card.

I decided to do room only with Orbitz, although adding my tickets on was still a nice savings for me. I checked Undercover Tourist (who I have gotten tickets from before) and can save an additional $24 over the Orbitz ticket price.

I did not see any option to add the DP on to the Orbitz booking so if you are doing DP, it may not work for you.

All in all, I have saved $185 and the only time it took was less than 10 minutes for the whole re-booking and then cxl with Disney. I don't know when my reservation will fall into the Disney system so I will most likely give Orbitz a call this week to see when that will happen.
