Would you rather go to Disneyland on Sunday may 17th and deal with weekend crowds but have longer hours.

Or go Monday may 18th and deal with grad night crowds and (assuming?) shorter hours?

I don't know the extent of the grads/teenage take over, but we have a 3 & 5 year old. What day would we get the most bang for our single day ticket?

Are you planning to be there at rope drop and stay all day until close? Or will there be a break in between for nap/relax time or leave before closing?

We only have one day so we will be there at rope drop till we can't go any longer. If that's early we will nap and come back. But I'm thinking till evening.
Thanks in advance for your advice :(

I'm thinking I would go on Monday for the lesser crowds in the earlier hours of the day. I've never been at rope drop, we aren't early morning risers, but I think those first hours on Monday morning without the weekend crowds could be pretty productive as far as rides goes.

The grad crowds won't be too loud and large? I tried to google the event but didn't find much info on it.

They can be annoying at times, but I would still pick a grad night over Sunday crowds, but that's just me :) Someone in another thread mentioned that as the night goes on the do tend to gravitate towards DCA, which I've also found to be true. Just be sure to work the fast pass system and it'll be fine. I honestly haven't had too many bad encounters with the grads, we generally run into a grad night 2-3 times a year. I'm sure either day you go though you'll have a great time :)

Being that you do not plan to take a midday break, you will probably be there shorter hours anyway. Even if the park closes at 8 or 9 your kiddos probably wouldn't last much longer than that anyway, even if you were there on Sunday when the park is open until 11 pm or midnight. My vote is go Monday and make the most of every minute which will be easier with less crowds. Good luck! :thumbsup2

We've been for plenty of grad nights and while the park gets noticeably busier in the early evening, it's usually fine for the rest of the day. Where as Sunday is going to be busy all day. I would check the entertainment schedule though if things like Fantasmic and/or fireworks are important to you because those may not be happening on Monday.

The schedule isn't quite out for the days I'm thinking but you're right in the prior week- no fireworks or parade it shows :( all I think I care about are the fireworks :(

I think that the fireworks that are showing prior to the start of the diamond celebration are a fairly short show, and not that impressive from what I've heard, although I haven't seen it. I don't think I'd pick Sunday over Monday just for that firework show.

What about the parade? Is there a reason it's not running at all?

Hopefully someone else can chime in because I don't know about the parade schedule. It does seem like things are a little out of wack because of the switch over to the diamond celebration events.
