Okay, obviously how someone answers this is highly dependent on the number of points owned. In our case we own enough for one or 2 six day trips annually PLUS a Disney Adventures trip every other year. You can use the points for more than just the world/land and cruises.

Hmm...This is kind of hard. We normally do two or three trips per year. Last year we did a 12-day and a 10-day DW vacation and a 7-night cruise. This year we will only be doing a 7-day (on the waitlist for 3 more days) DW vacation and a 7-night cruise.

I know everyone says that using points for a cruise is not the best use for points, but we had such a good time on our 1st cruise last year, that we unanimously voted for another cruise this year. We think that once you factor in everything that comes with a cruise (i.e. accommodations, a premium PLUS "dining plan", various entertainment & shows, fantastic free childcare for DS7, a private cabin steward (Well he seemed like he was only focused on us, LOL!), the ports of call, etc.), that's it not such a horrible misuse of points, ha ha ha!

I will choose 2 trips per year since that the least (since buy into DVC in 2003 ) we do.

I think that this is a great poll ! I like to know how other people are using their points... Any confusion for me is entirely due to me ! I think I can fall into more than one category...does that mean that it's time for another add-on...

We are bank and go every other year-ers. The thought being, GASP, that we want to take the kids places other than WDW on the 'off' years. So we do WDW on the evens and somewhere else on the odds and a beach house rental every summer. This year's 'off' trip is a trip to Beaches in Jamaica with the in-laws. My IL's aren't into crowds, rides or Disney in general (thank goodness that DH broke that trend!) so a trip with them to the World would not be a good time at ALL.

That said, last year, DH and I did a 10 day trip with the kids and then 5 days at F&W without them! Thinking I can talk him in to more points after our next trip and then my vote on this poll would change!!!

After having to wait 14 months till the next trip (now down to about 8.5 months, I will always go twice a year. The wait is just miserable.

Although I am trying to talk my wife into going somewhere exotic for our anniversary like Cancun or the Bahamas / Bermuda but she does not want to spend the money and will not drink the water in Mexico under any circumstances.

I voted two trips a year but actually am more likely to do ~1.5/year [4 (maybe 5...) trips every 3 years] with my current # of points on average. Our plan was for 6 night annual WDW trips and 5 night DL one every 3rd year... Hopefully I will get to two per year on a regular basis someday, but only time will tell!
