If you were three kids, four parents, and three grandparents, and you spent the afternoon at the Polynesian pool, when would you want a Be Our Guest reservation if you planned on going to MVMCP that night and using a few fast passes beforehand?
4:25. by the time you get your wristbands and get to BOG it will be close to reservation time. good luck finding a reservation, i have been searching for weeks with no luck.
If it was me, and I dont travel with kids, I would go for the later one, the fireworks at quite late at MVMCP, 10pm usually so 4.25 dinner might lead to them being too tired. It depends on how good they are are with late nights I guess.
You can use fastpasses til 7pm on a party night (double check that though) so you could go a bit later and still use 3 fps, have a later dinner and still get a few rides if you want. With 4:25 you would have to be in the park very early if you want to use your fastpasses to advantage.
I would vote for 4:25 that way if there are any specific characters you want to get in line for or specific pictures you want to have taken, you don't have to rush through dinner. With a 5:50 reservation, I think you would be in slight danger (depending on whether or not you order apps and/or desserts plus how quickly everyone in your party eats) of actually missing the beginning of the party. After paying for those tickets, I wouldn't want to miss a minute of the actual party!
We would probably go for the 5:50pm reservation. That would get you out at just about start time of the party.
We try to stay at the Poly for its proximity to MK, so we will go on a few rides with FP in the daytime, go back to the Poly for swimming and lunch and then make a 5:30 or so reservation for a table service restaurant at MK.
i have noticed it was kinda hard to find decent times for FPs prior to the party because you have regular ticket folks and party ticket folks all vying for those 3 FPs just prior to the party.

I think it depends on what your goal is for the party. If you want pictures with some of the specialty characters, that 5:50 is too late and you'll be in line far longer during the party hours to get those. With the 4:25, you'll be out in time to get in line and be through with at least one of them as the party is starting.
One other note. There are some rumors/theories that Disney may not let MVMCP ticket holders in at 4 pm this year. They've moved the closing hour from 7 pm to 6 pm for day guests, so many are wondering if that means they will change the entry time for ticket holders. I would say make or keep the ADR, but stay in the loop to see how this falls out.
