Would you raise you bid for a resale to avoid ROFR?

We just made an offer for a resale, and after checking Beca's thread on ROFR - who's made it and who hasn't - I wonder if I should raise the amount I'm offering. How many of you have done this? Am I being paranoid? I just don't want to wait 3 weeks and then start over.

We didn't but we would have! Ours had already gone to Disney when we thought of it! Thankfully ours went through!!!

We offered asking price and then it went to ROFR, but that was back in the summer right when Disney raised the price of it's sold out resorts and it seemed like "every" contract was being taken by ROFR. The Timeshare Store told us we should be okay, but if we had paid even $1 or $2 less a point it would probably be taken. This price raise happened right in the middle of our purchase and it was very nerve-racking!
So, to answer your question, yes I would offer more than the asking price if it was a contract I really wanted. I would NEVER offer less, I'd be too afraid of ROFR. Plus, DH would have wanted to strangle me if I lost our BWV contract for $1 a point less! :teeth:

jnrrt,

I saw your post on the ROFR running thread. I just faxed our papers to Jason at TTS for a 90 pt BWV @ $76. We too should probably up the price, but will take our chances.

Good Luck!

Well, it might be paranoia, but I did just call and raise our bid to $78. The agent says that she hasn't had any bought back at that price as long as the buyer pays closing and dues. We thought it was worth a little more money to not worry about it so much!

So now we wait...
